Niantic keeps looking for reasons for you to dust off or reinstall Pokémon GO. And it is that, if you are a fan and a traveler, you have a few new reasons to play again, go sightseeing and socialize through this game. We are talking about the season of events and festivals of Pokémon GO. Yes, season, because all summer long there will be gatherings, festivals and special activities to celebrate that this game is still very much alive. These are all events that we know of to date.
The most important and the one that will put all the spotlights on is Pokémon GO Fest, and for several reasons as well. It is the event of the year, and will be held in Chicago (USA) from July 14 to 15. Be very careful because this time it will not be just an excuse to gather thousands of fans in one place, but they have thought of an adventure-type event to spend the whole day and have a good time. This time it's called Pokémon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park, and it will take place in Lincoln Park for immersive play. No details have been given, but there will be activities for coaches of all ages that will take place along a 3-kilometre walk.
Of course, it will not be a free event. One-day tickets will have a price of about 17 euros, and can be compared from the 10th on the event's website. From the Pokémon GO blog they also urge those interested to visit this page to check the hotels where they can get discounts for those days, as well as updated information.
Now all that remains is to hope that last year's fiasco is not repeated. And it is that, to celebrate the anniversary of the game, Pokémon GO Fest was proposed as an outdoor meeting activity between players. In the end, after paying the ticket, attendees could not connect to the game due to technical problems, and a year later Pokémon GO has had to face a million-dollar fine for mismanagement. Will it be repeated this year?
But not only American players will have their own event. In Europe, Pokémon GO launches a new edition of Safari Zone This time it will be in Dortmund (Germany), from June 30 to July 1, at Westfalenpark .The city council collaborates in the event, so there will be activities both in the urban area and in the aforementioned park, which is full of children's areas, water decorations and many other elements. In this case, the event is free for anyone who comes to this venue and the German city where it is held. Of course, the sooner you reserve accommodation, the less chance of running out of a place to sleep after a long day of hunting Pokémon. There is also a web page dedicated exclusively to this year's Pokémon Safari Zone with all the news and relevant information. But there is more.
Asia will also have its own event this year. Or, rather, your own tour of events. No dates or much more information have been revealed so far, but the Japanese city of Yokosuka will have its own Pokémon Safari Zone this summer. From the Pokémon GO blog they encourage interested trainers to be aware of the news, since there will be many more events throughout this continent.
And there are still more. Along with these massive international events, Pokémon GO will continue to celebrate its community days, with special activities so that everyone can participate in them by playing from their places of home. In addition, at the local level, Pokémon GO will also have new events related to different causes, such as those that have already been carried out to clean up the planet, for example. So just keep an eye on the Pokémon GO Events website for new ways to build community and put a face to other Trainers from around the world.
Without a doubt, more reasons to return to play Pokémon GO, if you stopped doing it at some point. Or to get together with friends and take a themed trip this summer.
