How to remove administrator privileges in a WhatsApp group

At the beginning of the year, on these same pages we announced that, in the Beta version of WhatsApp, they had decided to include the function of being able to withdraw the administrator privileges of a user from a certain group. Now, this function is extended to the official version of the application so that all of us who use it can make use of it.

Removing WhatsApp administrator privileges is now very easy

In the beginning, to withdraw administrator permissions in a WhatsApp group we had to carry out a process that could be somewhat conflictive and also cumbersome: a second group administrator had to remove the admin in question and then reinstate them back insideAt that point, your privileges would be revoked. To make the procedure easier and there are fewer suspicions, we can now withdraw privileges from the group information section.

Of course, it is still strictly necessary that you also be a group administrator to remove your partner's privileges. In order to do so, you must enter the WhatsApp application and search for the group in question. To access the group information section you can take two different paths:

You can click on the title of the group, once inside. A new screen will open where you can see the different contacts that make up the group in question. Go to the administrator whose privileges you want to deprive and hold their checkbox. Among the different actions you can perform, you can now find 'Dismiss as administrator'Press it and you will have removed the privilege without removing it from the group. To reassign him admin privileges, click his tab again in the group info section. It's that simple.

To be able to have this new function, as recommended by WABetaInfo, we have to update:

• WhatsApp Android to version 2.18.116 or higher to be able to receive the update remotely
• For iPhone users it is recommended to update to version 2.18.41 available in the iOS Appstore
