How to add the address of the school and gym on Google Maps

Google continues to make improvements to the Google Maps application with exciting new features. If the possibility of saving the address of work or our home was recently added, now it will be possible to do the same with the address of the school or the gym. At the moment, this option is only available for a reduced group of users. That is to say, it is being deployed little by little, but as they have commented, the operation is practically equal.The difference is that they appear with their own icon.
Just like home and work addresses, the address of the gym and school will not be used solely on Google Maps. They will be available in the rest of the company's services. This way the Google Assistant will make better use of this information. It will suggest you go to the gym or school, just as it has been doing for months to your home or work.
Add the address of the gym on Google Maps
As we say, this new feature is slowly coming to Android. However, you can know if you have already received it by trying to add an address for the school or the gym. As we can read on Android Police, if you ask Maps how to get to a place, you might get a black popup asking if you go there often and if you want to assign a label to it.
Suggested include School and Gym with special icons. You may also see these two suggestions along with Home and Work when trying to add a tag to a place. So this information works like labels, a note that you can add to one or more places. Not to be confused with lists, which have been around for some time on Google Maps for Android and that serve to categorize many places at the same time.
While labels can be added from the Google Maps website (from a site's information), in the Android app you can only see the tagged sites (in the Your sites section). It is not possible to add them. The button only appears when a place already has a tag, but we imagine that will all change in the future. On the other hand, it should be noted that these two new special tags are not treated as such anywhere else. They do not have an application shortcut on the Maps application home screen icon and are not recognized in the Assistant.
Say to the latter: "go to school", "go to my school", "instructions to go to the gym", "instructions to go to my gym", or any other variant of those commands will not give any appropriate response. Instead, it will search for any nearby school or gym. It is clear that the functionality is not fully implemented yet,but we hope they will be treated as home and work tags shortly.
