Netflix tests the Coming Soon feature in its new Android app

Today we woke up to the news that the Netflix application has 'undergone' a redesign that places its entire navigation bar in a much more comfortable and practical place. If the reader remembers, they will be able to remember that, previously, the navigation bar was accessed through a hamburger menu that was found in the upper left part of the screen. Once you entered the menu, a series of sections were displayed on the side in which we could see the downloads, recommendations, and genres of series and movies.

But the curious thing, really, is not that: certain users report that, added to those 4 buttons, a fifth has appeared with the title 'Coming soon', a new section where the upcoming releases of the month appear, with their trailer included. If you're on the latest version of Netflix 6.0 and the button hasn't appeared yet, don't despair. I'm sure this is a test feature and you'll still have to wait for it to be fully released to everyone.

A more assertive and practical design in the Netflix Android app

Speaking of the new design: now, with practicality in mind, Netflix updates its application and 'pulls' all the useful navigation elements and places them in a bottom bar. When we open the application, we find the icons for 'Start', 'Search', 'Download' and 'More'The user, therefore, will have at hand, whenever they want to consult it, the downloads that are available, instead of opening menus that make the application aesthetically ugly.

• If you go to 'Start' you will find the usual: your list and personalized recommendations.
• In 'Search' we have a top bar where you can type keywords (or say them using the microphone icon) and a list with all genres and subgenres as well as our downloads.
• 'Download' receives a better location in the application since it will now always be visible in the navigation bar. Within the 'Downloads' section you can also search for content to download You just have to press the button 'Search titles to download' and they will appear on a new screen.Choose your favorite, download it and you will be able to watch it, later, on your mobile without having to spend data from your rate.
• In 'More' you can access all the configuration of the application Much more colorful than before, the new configuration section houses the different profiles you have created at the top and, below, the list of personal notifications, access to your favorites list and the application settings.

What can we find in the new 'Coming Soon' section?

Very welcome this new section that, hopefully, will open to other users of the streaming platform. Although it is true that we have some third-party applications that notify us of Netflix premieres, we missed our own section in which we were notified of their future productions.When we enter this new section, we will see the releases one by one, they do not appear as a list. A somewhat strange decision if what they wanted was to make the application easier for users to use.

If we want to see what will be released on the platform, we must swipe with our finger and they will appear as cards Once they appear, the trailer will play automatically. You can also add the premiere to your list, which will be available on it from the day it is broadcast. The date, of course, appears on the same tab.
