How to Post Horizontal Uncropped Photos on Instagram Stories
Table of contents:
On numerous occasions, we have wanted to share an old photo that we had in our gallery in Instagram Stories. But what is the main problem we find? That some of the images that we want to place are in horizontal format. When converting them to the Stories format, they were cut to fit the full vertical screen, without us being able to remedy it. This is now a thing of the past, because in the latest update, Instagram has corrected this bug.
Adjust your images in landscape mode in Instagram Stories
Now, we can share horizontal photos that we have in our gallery in Instagram Stories without losing their format. And we can do it in a very simple way. Remember: this new feature only works with the photos you have in the gallery, so you must capture the images with the normal camera application on your mobile. We can also add photos sent to us by WhatsApp or downloaded from the Internet to the stories.
Once you have taken the horizontal photograph, open the Instagram application and enter the Stories section. To do this, as always, press the photo camera icon or swipe to the right from the main wall of your contacts' photos. Now, look for the image that we want to share in our Instagram Stories. For it:
Click on the square that you can find at the bottom left and that contains a small image thumbnail.
By default, the images you have in your gallery will appear. If you can't find it, press where it says 'Gallery' and a new screen will be displayed where you can choose the image from among all the folders you have on your phone.
When you have chosen it, press it and it will be placed in vertical format automatically. Now all you have to do is pinch the image with your fingers and zoom in or out until it fits the format you like best. It's that easy. With your fingers you will choose how you want the image to appear: so you won't have to place it completely horizontally, if you don't want to. You just have to adjust it to your liking.
