Fornite, the trendy video game created by Epic Games is now available for iPhone mobiles. Of course, at the moment you can only download the application through invitations. Fortunately, I was one of the first to sign up for the event and I got one to download Fornite on my iPhone After a few days playing and examining each mode and function, I show you the five more interesting keys and options.
Gameplay Experience
If you come from playing Fornite on the PlayStation, Xbox or even on Windows or Mac, it may be more difficult for you to adapt to these modes. They are not difficult, but there are very different controls that I will show you later First of all, you should know that the controls are done directly on the screen. To control the player you can do it through a virtual Joystick that is located on the left side. We can move from side to side by sliding our finger anywhere on the screen. For example, if you want to go forward, you will have to move the virtual Joystick, but if you want to turn right, you will have to scroll the screen.
All controls are done through gestures. For example, if you want to select a weapon you'll have to tap on it. If you want to build, select the build mode and it will be activated by a button that will appear on the screen. The same goes for the option to aim and shoot and jump and crouch.
I have adapted easily, especially since the screen of my device is large. Some functions still cost me, like the point and shoot option, I think that the virtual button is not in a very good place. In addition, when building it also becomes a bit complicated, especially if you come from a video console. But little by little you get the hang of it.
Differences between Fornite for Video Console and iOS
A PlayStation or Xbox are very different from a mobile device. Therefore, Fornite also has several differences. the objective is the same, to be the last survivor. But the controls are different. On PlayStation we can crouch by pressing the Joystick, or select weapons using the rear buttons. The movements with the controls are not the same either.
On the other hand, I hardly found any differences in the game. The characters are similar, the mechanics are completely the same and the weapons, chests, or even the possibility of playing with your friends is the same. The only thing is that in the case of the mobile app, a circle shows us where nearby footsteps or shots have occurred. For example, if there is a character walking upstairs, she will show us some blank footprints at the top.
Graphic Options and Controls
In Fornite we find different options. The application focuses on adding modes to improve the experience of interaction with the screen. In the settings we find modes such as adjusting touch sensitivity, charging, vibration, activating or deactivate the different types of lighting etc. We also find sound settings. We can adjust the level of the music, the sound in the game, the volume of the sequences, etc.As well as activate sub titles or configure voice chat.
I haven't found any option to adjust the image quality,it seems to be done by default. It will also depend on the device we are playing on, but the truth is that I would like to have seen a menu to adjust the quality, fluidity, etc.
Latency, dropouts and connection
Fornite for iOS has been out for a few days, the servers are not very big and they may suffer some other failure. During these days of testing, with an iPhone 8 Plus and 300 MB Fiber I have not had any cut, no LAG. When connecting to networks with a lower connection, I have been able to perceive small lags and cuts, but at no time has it been disconnected. Although it is annoying to see how you walk nowhere.
Available game modes
At the moment, Fornite for iOS only has two of the three modes. First of all, the solo mode, where you are alone and you have to eliminate everyone until you are left. Squad mode is also available, it consists of making teams and the last squad standing wins. Duet mode is currently not available. Perhaps it is because the servers have not yet increased sufficiently or because the application is still in beta phase, but if this option appears in the Room it is because it will be coming soon. Finally, a mode called 'Blitz Assault! (Squadron)'. This mode is very similar to Squad, but the dome closes faster, the number of weapons is increased, and materials are multiplied.
Fornite for iOS is more than we expected, overall gameplay is good, modes are pretty much identical to the game, no lag (as long as you have a good connection) and decent graphics .As we mentioned, to download Fornite on iPhone you will need an invitation. You can ask a friend who already has the game installed, or sign up for the invite event and wait until Epic Games sends you one.
Have you been able to play Fornite on iOS? How was your experience?
