Follow the round of Google updates. If a few days ago it was the turn of YouTube and Chrome, now it's the turn of the Play Store. The Android app store has received a little face lift.
New on board this update is a new navigation bar, which users will find located just below the tabs that already exist within the application.
Actually, this bar is not used for navigationIt is a submenu from which we can directly access certain sections. For example, the most popular applications, the categories, the selection made by the editors, the options for families or the access to beta tools.
The new version of the Play Store includes a Subscriptions section. From here you can manage all the subscriptions you have made. But would you know where to start?
How to subscribe
Go to Google Play and search for the content you want to subscribe to. This can be an application, graphic content, a Google service, etc. As soon as you have it, click on the Subscribe option and choose the modality you want. Next, the system will ask you to indicate a payment method. If you have your card inserted, you will have advanced a lot of work. Then choose Subscribe
Manage subscriptions in the Google Play Store
Do you know what Google Play subscriptions are or haven't tried them yet? In case you didn't know, subscriptions may have made for any of the contents that you can purchase from the store. This includes subscriptions to magazines, content in the Google Newsstand, streaming services and any other service, such as an extension of the Drive quota.
These subscriptions renew automatically, unless you choose to cancel them. And you can do this from the subscription section. In fact, from this same section you have the option to modify the payment system or space out the payments in a different way. As long as the subscription allows it.
- To see your subscriptions, all you have to do is go to Menu > Account > Subscriptions.
- To change the payment method, you will have to do it before 24 hours before each new subscription period begins. Within the subscription that interests you, select Update.
- To cancel the subscription, you will need to access the Subscriptions section again and click on the subscription you do not wish to renew. Choose Cancel.
- If you want to change the frequency of your subscription, please note that this is not an option available for all types of subscriptions. Some do offer this possibility, which can be, for example, changing from a monthly subscription to an annual one. In the event that this can be done, you will directly see the option “Change subscription” on the screen. From here you can make the changes you consider appropriate (and that can be done, of course). If you're done, you'll receive an email telling you what changes have been made.
How long will I have access to the subscription content?
If you want to continue subscribing to a service or content, just make payments on time and make sure the method indicated is correctto continue accessing the contents. But, what happens if we have canceled a subscription? Well, in principle, you will have the possibility to continue using/reading the content for as long as you have paid.
That is, if you purchased an annual subscription on January 1, you will continue to have access to the content until December 31, even if you have Made the cancellation during the month of March. In that case, yes, the subscription will not be renewed.
Access after cancellation
If you cancel a subscription, you will continue to have access to the content for the remaining period of time for which you have paid.
For example, if you bought an annual subscription (10 euros) on January 1st and you decide to cancel it on July 1st, you can access the content until December 31, but the subscription will not be renewed when the new year begins. If you wanted to recover the subscription, you could do it again, but you would have to access the content again and subscribe.
