How to Mention Contacts on Snapchat Instagram Stories Style
Table of contents:
It seems the tables have turned. If Snapchat changed the rules of the game as far as social networks are concerned (what would be of us, today, without the famous ephemeral stories?), Instagram did not hesitate to 'snatch' the idea and crown itself as the queen of the teenagers. The world's largest social photo network has followed suit, implementing improvements that have surpassed Snapchat. And now this is the one that has decided to 'copy' Instagram.
Snapchat will let you name your contacts
Specifically, we are referring to the option to name the users in the stories we create. A very simple way to call the attention of one of our friends, so that they do not miss the news that we have just created. A utility that until now we could not find on Snapchat and that, thanks to The Verge, we have been able to discover.
This 'new' feature will soon be enabled for all Snapchat users. At the moment, the application is being tested on certain users while waiting to officially deploy it. The actor Mastt Rappaport has been one of the first to announce that he already had this function activated, according to the screenshots that we have been able to see in this same publication and that we reproduce below.
The new user naming function works as expected: we choose the text option and type the user's name accompanied by an at sign.Apparently there is no autofill option, so we must remember by heart the name of the chosen user. A delay, really, having to first see what a user's name looks like and then write it down. Hopefully they update this and fit more in with what we already have on Instagram.
Snapchat is still working on this feature so the last word may not be in yet. Autofill may finally appear when the feature is rolled out to all Snapchat users. We therefore expect a prompt update of the application that, one day, was the queen of adolescents.
