The various supermarkets that populate the cities offer their regular customers their own product applications. With these apps we will be able to access, comfortably from our mobile, the offers that are available, the temporary brochures and our savings coupons. We are going to focus on three of these applications and we are going to compare them, to see which one offers the best service to the user. Specifically, we are left with Club DIA, Lidl and Mi Carrefour, three very popular supermarkets where you can do your monthly shopping.

Club DIA

DIA supermarkets have always been known for offering a large number of white brands with good value for money. Will your application be so acceptable? Let's see in depth what this Club DIA offers.

The application is divided into three large sections: Profile, Home and Settings. Let's go, first of all, with the Home screen.

On the home screen you can configure your membership card, access your latest purchases and access tickets, see the latest store brochures, make a shopping list and check available stores in your area. However, you will not be able to make the purchase from this application: you must download DIA Supermercado Online.

If you have a purchase card, we can link it with our phone, in order to have our coupons digitally.A very simple way to always have our card at hand and be able to enjoy all the discounts that DIA offers. In addition to coupons, the app offers a direct connection to the ING TWYP app. With this app you can withdraw money in numerous DIA stores when you make your purchases, without commissions, without having to go to an ATM.

On the 'Profile' screen we can change our personal data, access our card and the TWYP app. In 'Settings' you can indicate that you want to receive notifications, comment on your purchases and make any comments regarding your relationship with DIA.

The application, in general terms, is very intuitive and clean, offering many possibilities such as being able to make your shopping list . In addition, the map is very practical to locate the different DIA stores that you have nearby.Overall, it is a very simple and efficient application. One of the great advantages, moreover, is being able to withdraw money in cash.

My Carrefour

A priori, Mi Carrefour seems to be a slightly less intuitive application than Club DIA. We have, as always, a home screen where we can see the store's products, current brochures, make shopping lists, check Savings Checks and many more things:

• Request a turn to be assisted in customer services
• Consult gas stations
• Scan Products
• Check your purchase receipts
• Direct access to Viajes Carrefour

The main stumbling block we encountered is that, to buy products from the application, we need another application added, called Carrefour Supermercado Online, instead of integrating it within this one.

To access all the functionalities of the application we must register, either through our Club Carrefour card/PASS, or, in the case of not having it, fill out a registration form with our data.

The My Carrefour application is undoubtedly more complete than Club DIA. Carrefour offers many more services, such as 'Travel' or 'Gas station' and this is reflected in the app. However, Club DIA has seemed much more intuitive and simple to use, having everything more at hand and with a clearer and cleaner design.

Lidl – Your perfect purchase

Let's go with the latest application of the comparison, the one that Lidl offers to all its customers. The Lidl application is characterized by having a minimalist design, in which we find a bottom bar with several options. We have the main screen, where we can search for products and add them as favourites in order to create our shopping list. Later, we can see, in convenient cards, the different promotions that we have access to in the supermarket. We can also take a look at the promotions for the next week in progress, in order to better plan purchases.

In the second icon we will see the brochures of our store. We will have configured our store on the main screen, at the top where we can read 'Select store' The GPS will begin to search for the nearest store in order to choose it as default and get your own brochures.Brochures are downloadable in PDF format.

Then we have the favorite items screen: a good way to shop, choosing the items and adding them as favourites.

Finally, in 'Options', we can locate the closest Lidl stores as well as different sections that may be useful for your life at home. We have, for example, a section on recipes, a section dedicated to sports, where we can find running routines, trekking and even yoga and Pilates exercises; another dedicated to gardening... Useful elements that are appreciated in a simple supermarket application.

What is the main weakness of this application? That we cannot make purchases on the Internet. We can simply search for the products and save them, but not buy them.

Conclusions

Each of these applications has its pros and cons, being the most balanced of all of them Club DIA. If you are a loyal Carrefour user, obviously this is the application you should use. And if you don't mind not being able to make purchases on your mobile and you also want to have access to recipes and he alth advice, your application is Lidl's. The final decision is in your hand
