5 applications to compress files and send them via WhatsApp
Table of contents:
There are times when we want to send a set of photos and the procedure is tedious and burdensome. It is not the same, of course, to send 20 photos at once, in a compressed package, than to do it one by one. That is why Android makes your work easier, offering you a series of utilities to compress your files from its application store. Thus, in addition to collecting a certain number of them in the same 'package', we will be able to gain a few extra megabytes of space: at most, on WhatsApp we can share files that do not weigh more than 100 MB.
So that you don't have to search among the thousands of applications that are in the Play Store, we have decided to do the work for you and point out 5 applications to compress filesand send them by WhatsApp or any other application, as long as it allows you to. For example, Gmail only allows you to send files that do not exceed 25 MB: if it exceeds them, a link is generated in your cloud storage service, Google Drive.
RAR
We start with one of the applications to compress files with the best rating in the Play Store and the most support from users. With RAR we will be able to compress your documents in both RAR and ZIP files, as well as decompress files on your device RAR, ZIP, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, 7z, ISO and ARJIn addition, among its most outstanding functions, we can see the repair of damaged compressed files, speed tests compatible with WinRAR, recovery registry, etc.
To compress a set of files only you must do the following:
Open the application. At that time you will see all the folders that are created on your mobile phone. You just have to go to the folder where you have the files you want to compress. Then, we are marking, one by one, the files that we want to include in the package Once all have been selected, we press the first icon that we have at the top of the screen and on the next screen, click 'OK'.
Once the package is created, you can see it on top of the previous files. Now, to share it, you just have to mark it, click on 'Send' and mark the application through which you want to send the package. It's that simple.
The RAR application is completely free, with ads, and its installation file is barely more than 3 MB. Download it from the Play Store app store.
WinZip – Zip UnZip Tool
The second application is well known to all users of office automation programs. In this case we have the mobile version of WinZip that preserves all the utilities of its PC version. With WinZip you will be able to create Zip and Zipx files as well as being able to decompress Zip, Zipx, 7z, RAR and CBZ files. In addition, we will be able to decrypt Zip and 7z files that contain sensitive material.
To compress files with this tool we will proceed as follows:
We choose the folder where the files that we want to compress are located. One of the advantages that the previous application offered is that it offered you a thumbnail of the files: this way it will be easier to identify the ones that we want to compress.Next, we mark the files to be compressed and press the icon that appears in the screenshot.
Next step: we choose where we want that compressed file to go: to your phone, to the default folder 'My Files' (or My Files), to Google Drive or to Dropbox. Subsequently, we name the package and we accept We will see, next, the compressed package. To send it, we must access a third-party application (a file manager) as this app does not allow it.
We can download for free, although with paid services and ads, from the Play Store. Its installation file is 33 MB.
Easy Unrar, Unzip & Zip
Let's go with the third of the applications to compress files. It's about Easy Unrar, Unzip & Zip and, as its name suggests, it's a very easy to use applicationAs always, just open it, we have the list of folders that are installed on our device. We have to go down until we reach the desired one, for example 'Pictures' and click on it. Then, we choose the subfolder again, for example, 'Instagram'. Now we have to choose the photographs that we want to compress. In this case, we don't have the possibility to see the thumbnail photos either, although we can sort them by size, name, last modification or file type.
Before choosing the photographs, we are going to press the 'Compress' button. Then we choose the photos (careful to press right in the little square, because if not it is not chosen correctly) and click on the green check at the top Click on new 'Compress' after naming the file and you're done.
We press 'back' when the compression has finished and we lower the screen to the bottom. We will see the compressed file. To share it, again, we will have to use a third-party application.
Download for free, although with ads, this application whose installation file exceeds 4 MB in weight.
Zip File Manager
Let's go with the final stretch of our special. This application follows the guidelines of the previous ones: when it is opened it shows us the directory of folders and files of our mobile. We will have to navigate to where they are located and select the files This application does show a thumbnail of the photos to make it easier for us to choose them.
The selection is less intuitive than in the other apps: we must press the upper box 'Multi' and then select which type of compression you want, for example, Multiple Zip. Later we are selecting the files (you will see that their name changes color) and click on 'Create'. We place the name of the file and that's it.
To send the Zip, press once, without holding, and click 'Send'. A sharing screen will open and we will choose the app in question.
Download now this free application, although with ads, whose installation file is 3.40 MB.
