To date, Google has surprised with some new features in different communication and messaging services. And it is that, as we have already seen in Google Allo or in Gmail, it is capable of understanding what is being talked about to offer possible answers automatically. Now this is carried to any messaging tool thanks to a new application. It's called Replay and it just emerged from Area 120, an experimental place where they develop some of these ideas until they become a product.This is how you can set smart and automatic replies to your WhatsApp messages
At the moment, Replay is in beta phase. This means that is not available to everyone in the Google Play Store as just another app. However, it can be downloaded from the independent APKMirror repository. With this we can test the virtues of what is still a beta application or in the testing phase. That is, in full development However, before following this tutorial you must understand that the process carries risks since the application comes from outside the Google Play Store, and it is not analyzed by the security barriers of the company. Which does not mean that it is not functional, although it is not yet the final product.
That being said, if you want to continue, you only have to have a mobile with Android 7.0 or higher. Then you just have to look for the Replay application file in APKMirror, being able to download it directly to the mobile from here. Accept the download and click on the file once it has finished. You may need to activate the Unknown Sources function in the Security Settings of your mobile. This feature allows you to install apps from sources outside of the Google Play Store. A process that can carry risks.
With all this the application is ready to be used. All that remains is to carry out a configuration with which to establish some important data that will mark the quick and automatic responses of Replay in WhatsApp.
Configure Replay for WhatsApp
The first thing after installing Replay is to sign with our Google account. After that we must confirm access to control notifications on our mobileA process that is guided in a simple way to accept the steps and little else. And finally, all that remains is to grant permission for the application to know our location, which will be useful for suggesting these automatic responses in the future.
Finally, an information screen, for the moment in English, shows us the main abilities of Replay, allowing us to activate them or not to begin with to use them. We talk about:
- The automatic responses on vacation: depend on the calendar to know if they have to launch or not to automatically answer the contact that speaks to us.
- Urgent Notification: If a contact types the word "Urgent" (urgent in English), the application takes care of notifying us to to know that there is a message that you are interested in answering.
- Detection of serious issues: when an exclamation or a phrase denoting seriousness is sent to us, the Replay application sends a message informing to the contact that typing “Urgent” will notify us of the emergency.
- Automatic Greetings: Automatic responses to greetings such as “hello”.
- Replay Assistance: The intelligence that controls Replay can be called upon as a bot or robot to provide assistance.
Once we continue with the configuration we are presented with a new utility screen. Here we are informed, always in English (we must not forget that the application is not finished), of the activities that Replay can detect to activate automatic responses Solo We must mark those in which we know that we will not be able to answer on WhatsApp so that the app does it for us.
The variety is enormous and ranges from when the phone is silenced to when driving, going through scenarios such as running, going by bike, going by train, when you are sleeping or when you are in a meeting. Once the options have been chosen, all that remains is to click on the Continue button.
And that's it. Replay is ready to use. Although, if we want to personalize the experience even more, it is possible to add the home or work address, thus helping this application to offer answers such as the time it will take us to get home to offer a good answer or other similar situations.
How to use the Replay application with WhatsApp
If in the configuration section we have marked WhatsApp as one of the applications in which to apply Replay's intelligent and automatic responses, We only have to receive a message to test the application.
Replay's settings and settings are in English, but its intelligence and future capabilities allow it to respond in Spanish as well. Although sometimes it fails, and at the moment it responds in a very basic way. We will have to wait for a more advanced version to enjoy more interesting answers and in perfect Spanish
You just have to attend to the notifications at the top to see WhatsApp messages and Replay responses. In this last notification we can find up to three of the usual responses that would occur naturally, being able to choose the one we want.
Automatically Replay predisposes itself to send the message, although it offers a couple of seconds of time to hesitate and undo the action in the same notification. Thus, if we regret marking the answer, we will have a few seconds to rectify.
The only criticism we found of this application is that, if we don't disable WhatsApp notifications, we will find ourselves with double notifications that are not automatically deletedOn the one hand, the messages received from WhatsApp, the original ones, and on the other hand, the Replay notifications. You just have to get used to it, but seeing the notifications twice or not stopping seeing the Replay notifications when the content on WhatsApp has already been read can become desperate in the long run. Again, do not forget that the application is in testing, it can still be improved and corrected when it reaches the majority of Android users.
