This is the new look of the Google Play Store on Android
At Google they don't know how to sit idly by and, when they aren't improving any of their services and introducing new features, they are tweaking the design of one of their applications. Now we've discovered that what they want to change is the look of the app store, the Google Play Store. A new facelift so that the experience of browsing downloadable content for mobile phones is comfortable, fast and, above all, pleasant. We've scrutinized the leaked screenshots to see what's going to change when the new version lands.
At the moment there is no official comment from Google, but several confirmations through Reddit with users who have come across this new version. Some say they discovered it by surprise while others say they downloaded the latest version available from the Google Play Store on APKMirror to get hold of the design. Or have the latest Google mobile, the Pixel 2 XL. In any case, this is what we have been able to appreciate:
First of all, there is a new presentation for the sections and featured content. The top bar no longer shows caps in the color of the section (green for apps and games, pink for movies, orange for music, blue for books, and purple for kiosk) with the different subsections. This section goes to the sober aspect of the tabs, but with a minimalist design with a white background and accompanied by icons that help to recognize each section at a glance.
As we say, the contents are also displayed differently in this new version Now there are large banners with featured applications and games on the upper part. Basically it is the most advertising part, which now has an even bigger and more striking space. Cards that scroll in carousel mode to show covers of applications and games, but larger than in previous versions. However, the rest of the menu appears unchanged in the images, with smaller cards listing more content. This cover design change is repeated in every section of the Google Play Store, though it doesn't seem to go deeper or change other corners of the store.
At the moment Google seems to be testing this design, without it landing for all Android mobile users. And it is that many other details probably still have to be adjusted before launching this version of the Google Play Store for the general public. Will it also have new features to improve the experience? At the moment it is a mystery.
