Table of contents:
For a couple of weeks they have been very serious on Instagram with the issue of privacy. And it seems that they are not willing to leave unpunished those who steal content from the social network. Even more so if they are ephemeral. That is why they surprised us with a new functionality that consists of notifying each user about who takes screenshots of their Instagram Stories. Something that has made many users nervous, but it has a simple solution.
There are actually two ways to get hold of snapshots of an ephemeral moment (Instagram stories remain published for 24 hours if they are not deleted beforehand). One somewhat more elaborate than the other, among other things because it requires a computer for it. However, both are completely safe and allow us to end up with a screenshot, either in photo or video, of that moment that was supposed to be fleeting.
Mobile
There are several ways to get hold of a user's Instagram Stories without raising suspicions or making the happy notification or screenshot icon appear. Remember that the capture in photo and video is registered, although there is a previous notice that alerts about the notification that the user of Instagram will receive if we decide to make a new capture . So you can get rid of all this:
On the one hand you can take advantage of the airplane mode of your mobile. It is the fastest and easiest way to carry out this trick, without installing applications or wasting too much time. The idea is to understand that Instagram preloads the first two stories of our contacts on the social network. Just enter Instagram to see how the circles with these stories are updated at the top of the screen. At this time we can activate the airplane mode so that there is no direct communication with Instagram but we can reproduce these uploaded stories. When taking the screenshot, Instagram will not know what we are doing due to the lack of Internet connection. The almost perfect crime. Then we deactivate the airplane mode and that's it. As if nothing had happened.
Another slightly more complicated option is to use story download applications such as Story Saver for InstagramIt is free for Android users on the Google Play Store. After logging into it with our Instagram account, we only have to click on the contact from whom we want to obtain their stories. The application is in charge of downloading them and having them on hand for the use we want to give them, both in the form of photos and videos. Of course, be very careful in this case with attributing content that belongs to another person, since there may be legal problems if they are used for something other than to be consulted.
From the computer
There is an even safer formula to avoid being notified with the alert for taking screenshots. Of course, you have to use Instagram through your computer, as well as some program to capture in photo or video the contents seen. It is something quite simple and with which we do not run any more risk than appearing as one of those who have seen the stories of that contact.
We only need to enter Instagram through the desktop web version. Once inside we enter our user data to be able to see the feed or wall where the photographs of the rest of the accounts that are followed are shown. In this case, the Instagram Stories are collected in a square on the right of the screen, from where you can click on the circle of the desired contact so that it starts playing in the middle of the screen. Either in photo or video.
Well, all that remains is to take screenshots with the “Imp Pnt” button on the keyboard to later paste the result (Ctrl +V) in a drawing program like Paint, for example. Or use some screen recording tool like OBS Studio to get a video instead of a still image.
