WhatsApp launches its money transfer service in India
Table of contents:
In a short time, all WhatsApp users will have a new function in our messaging application, sometimes even more useful than deleting the messages we send by mistake. It is about sending money through the application owned by Facebook, a service already offered by other similar applications such as Twyp, owned by ING DIRECT. Thanks to the Twitter account of WhatsApp leak experts WABetaInfo, we learned that this very useful service has just been launched in India.
This is how we can see it in a tweet from exactly 19 hours ago from the WABetaInfo account:

Very soon you will be able to make payments from WhatsApp
As indicated on the WABetaInfo Twitter account, the payment service through WhatsApp is already available for some users in India. In addition, this new payment option is now available for both Android and iOS users To be exact, the version of WhatsApp for iOS that includes this payment section is the number 2.18.21.
As we can see in the screenshot made by WABetaInfo, the 'Payments' section can be found as another option in the settings menu of the application, next to 'Account', 'Chats' or 'Notifications'.
We assume, although nothing is clear yet, that this payment service will work practically the same as Twyp. At Twyp we associate a bank account in which we will receive payments from our contacts. On the chat screen, we have buttons to request the money, as well as a notification when the user has paid us conveniently. Once the user has paid us, the amount remains saved in the same application, and we can withdraw the funds to our account whenever we want.
WhatsApp thus wants to diversify its functions: a new feature that, without a doubt, could do a lot of damage to Twyp. Who does not have a WhatsApp account today?
