Instagram tests video calls like WhatsApp
Table of contents:
It seems that the Instagram application does not rest on news. Very recently we saw how it incorporated a new way of bringing Instagram Stories to life. We are talking about GIFs, which can now be added to our original stories directly from the app. But we have seen more features recently, such as the ability to see the last connection on the social network, or even the notice when we take a screenshot. But the most interesting part is yet to come, and boy is it interesting, because it seems that the application would incorporate video calls like those of WhatsApp.
This is what the WaBetainfo website, specialized in WhatsApp (and sometimes Instagram) news, has let us know. It seems that Instagram is testing the possibility of implementing video calls in the application. This option would be at the top of the chat. Therefore, when we are talking with any user, we can start a video call with a touch. Of course, we won't be able to start a video call if a user hasn't accepted the message request We also don't know if video calls on Instagram will be available for group chats , though unlikely.
Soon for Android and iOS
At the moment, we don't know what the video interface will look like. We expect a design very similar to that of WhatsApp, although with the white touches of Instagram. On the other hand, we do not rule out the possibility of implementing stickers during video calls. This feature is still in development, and it will take a few months to reach all users. It will of course be available for both iOS and Android. Most likely, we will continue to see signs of this feature over the next several weeks. Without a doubt, it is a very interesting novelty for those users who use Instagram as their main chat channel. Of course, we will be attentive to new developments from the application, and we will test video calls once they are available.
