Last week Instagram surprised half the world by its decision to show the last hour of activity of its users. Something like the WhatsApp Last Connection Time function, but through the Instagram messaging section. Something that gives many clues about the usage patterns of this application to the rest of the followers: from how long you have been active on Instagram, to knowing when was the last moment you were active on the applicationDetails that not everyone wants to make public.
The problem is that Instagram has actively institutionalized this feature by default. Thus, when it reaches each user's terminal, instead of showing the last message sent or received, Instagram Direct will indicate what was the last connection time of that contact But the good thing is that it can be solved to avoid giving away all this information and save some privacy for ourselves.
Just follow these simple steps, which lead us to deactivate this last hour of connection on Instagram: Open the application and click on the profile tab (the one on the far right). Once here, if we are iPhone users we click on the cogwheel, while if we have an Android mobile we click on the three points in the upper right corner. Thus we arrive at the application Settings menu, where we must look for the function Show activity statusBy deselecting this feature we avoid showing the hours of use of Instagram, hiding the activity that we have had in the application.
Of course, as with other privacy functions of other services dependent on Facebook, it is a fair measure. And it is that, if we deactivate showing our Activity Status, we will also deactivate the function for the rest of the contacts That is, we will not be able to know more when the last time was who have been online on Instagram. Something that is appreciated to maintain balance in the application, without some users taking advantage of the privacy of others.
At the moment Instagram is gradually launching this new function to show the last hour of user activity. A movement that seems to be close to the rumors that Instagram would soon launch its own independent messaging applicationEven if your application does not show the last connection time, it will show it in the next few days. Meanwhile, you already have the function in Settings to deactivate it if you wish.
