How to hide Instagram contact recommendations
If you are a regular user of Instagram, surely you have come across a more or less unwanted new feature on your wall. And it is that, without prior notice or configuration, the photography social network has decided to start showing suggestions of accounts to follow The drawback is that they are shown directly with photos that seem to be from the wall itself between the publications of the accounts that are followed. Something that can mislead us and that makes us have to slide our finger across the screen more times to jump to the publications that we follow and that we want to see.Well, there is a formula to prevent this from happening.
Instagram does not allow you to configure this new feature of account suggestions in detail. That is, there is no way to prevent them from appearing from time to time However, they can be made to disappear temporarily, until the next time we encounter them. The process is simple but not definitive.
Just click on the three dots on the right side of the suggestions section. This brings up a contextual menu with two options: information about recommended publications (which takes us to a website with the process that we explain below) and hide If we select With this second option we will be able to hide these suggestions or recommendations of accounts to follow. Of course, it is a temporary process and, sooner or later, they will be shown directly on the wall again.
These suggestions or recommendations are related to Likes and accounts that are normally followed on Instagram. In this way, there should not be too much of a problem since they are recommendations with a similar style or content cut to what is already followed. The real problem is how Instagram has introduced these recommendations, trying to imitate the normal publications of the social network. Something that can significantly mislead the user.
Instagram continues to search for formulas to convince its users to spend more time on the photography social network, as well as to make it grow. Undoubtedly recommendations are a basic pillar to achieve this, but the way to do it is key so that users do not feel harassed by recommendations.
