How to use the Amazon Prime Video app on Android

If we did a survey among Amazon Prime users, in relation to the Amazon Prime Video streaming service, we would surely get more than one surprise. And it is that there are many, many people who are still unaware that, by paying for Amazon Prime, they also have access to their television. How do we use the Amazon Prime Video app on Android?

First of all, we have to make sure that we have Amazon Prime in the online store. To do this, we go to amazon.es and log in with our account. Later, at the top, click on My account>My account, as we see in the following screenshot.

Then, on this screen, click on the 'Prime' box, which is where we can see if we have an active Amazon Prime account .

If we do not have an active subscription at the moment and we are interested, we can sign up on this same screen. Once you have confirmed that you do indeed have an Amazon Prime account, we proceed to download and install the Amazon Prime application on our phone. You also have the application available on some Smart TVs: you must enter your application store, directly from your television device, and verify it.

Download Amazon Prime and start browsing it

Go to the Play Store app store and download the Amazon Prime Video app. To connect you need the Amazon username and password, exactly the same credentials. Once entered into your account, the application will open, which you will see is very simple and easy to use. Prime Video is oriented so that anyone can use it, betting on simplicity at all times.

If we scroll down, we will see all the content that the application selects, automatically, for all of us. 'Amazon Originals Series', 'The best series', 'The best movies'... In short, a good way to see, at a glance, a summary of the application's content. If we look at the top of the home screen, we see that, next to it, there are two more tabs, 'Series' and 'Cinema' Selecting them, we can view each piece of content in its own feed, sorted by genre.

If we want to access the content and configuration menu, we must swipe to the right, from one side of the screen. In this menu we have, classified, the series and movies that we can watch on Amazon Prime, just as we had before in screen format.You also have your own 'Watchlist' here, a typical list of favorites where we can add the series and movies that interest us the most. In 'Downloads' we see all our downloaded content, classified by 'Series' and 'Movies'. But let's not anticipate events, later we will teach you how to download content on Amazon to watch movies and series without spending a penny.

In the 'Settings' of the application, we can:

• Manage quality of streaming and downloading
• If we want to download or watch content only with WiFi
• Ask the app to notify you if you are streaming using mobile data.
• Play automatically the next episodes in a series.
• Control the content that can be reproduced, adapting it to the age of the user.
• View all devices registered to your Amazon Prime Video account. You can use it on three different devices at the same time.

How to download content on Amazon Prime Video

Downloading content on Amazon Prime Video it's very easy. You simply have to follow these steps:

• Enter the content you want to download.
• If it's a series, you'll see an arrow icon next to each chapter. You will only have to press the arrow and the content will begin to download. You will have to choose, before, in what quality you want to download the content. The greater the weight, the better the image quality.
• If it's a movie, just click the 'Download' button.

Then swipe the screen to the side to access the application menu. In the 'Downloads' section you will have the content ready to be able to see it offline. To delete downloaded content, long-press on the thumbnail that generated the download, and in the pop-up window, select 'Delete Download'.

How to add favorite content to the watch list

To have any series and movies organized and ready, you can add them to a watch list at any time. For it:

• Access the desired content
• Whether it is a series or a movie, you must click on 'Add to watchlist'.

• To consult the list, swipe right until the application menu appears. Click on 'Watch List' and here you can edit the content, viewing the details of the season of the series or delete the content, by holding down the thumbnail of the program in question (see previous screenshot).
