WhatsApp has a functionality very similar to that of Snapchat that allows you to see images of other contacts for a while. We speak, of course, of the famous States. For many it is quite heavy to have to be posting photos daily. But other users enjoy showing photos of their daily life and their day to day. From WhatsApp they have taken great care of the issue of privacy. It is possible to restrict these statuses to other contacts. Likewise, there is also a way to look at them without the other person knowing.
Can you imagine being able to see the statuses of some contacts without them noticing that you've entered to take a look? As we say, it is entirely possible. Also, is as simple as clicking. Whether you have Android or iOS, appearing like a ghost on WhatsApp and your friends or family won't be aware that you've looking at their statuses is really easy. Below we explain everything you have to do.
Watch statuses without them knowing
So that our contacts do not know that we have entered their states to look at their photos, we just have to deactivate the read confirmation. This is the same option that activates the blue check in messages. Once we have deactivated this option, our contacts will not be able to see in any way that we have entered to "gossip" about their images. Of course, it is necessary that you take into account that when you deactivate the reading confirmation, you will not be able to know who sees yours either. In any case, it's something that can be undone. You can turn it off to watch, then turn it back on once you've had a look.
If you have an iOS mobile you have to go to Settings, Account, Privacy and deactivate the Read confirmation option. Just below you will see a message telling you that if you turn off read receipts you won't be able to see other people's. That is, neither their states nor will you know if they have read your messages. Also, keep in mind that read receipts will always be sent in group chats.
If you have an Android mobile you have to go to the WhatsApp settings section and then enter Account info, Privacy and Read confirmation. Then disables the tab.
An action that can be changed whenever you want
As we say, it is something that can be revoked whenever you want. What does this mean? That you can deactivate the read receipt to see some statuses and then reactivate it to be able to keep knowing who sees yours, or which contacts have read your messages. Of course, if at the moment you have it deactivated to see states someone sees yours, logically you will never know.
Choose who you share your statuses with
WhastApp has always been in the crosshairs of privacy advocates. The service takes great care of these details so as not to have problems with its users. Therefore, you can also choose who you want to share your statuses with. It is something very simple that you can select from the Privacy section. Once you are in this section you can configure it so that they can see, or not, when you last connected (Everyone, only your contacts or nobody).
Same with states. You can share them with all your contacts or with some specific contacts. In this case, WhatsApp will give you the option to block your statuses for certain users or only share them with a selected few .
