Until now there was no way to have WhatsApp officially on Apple tablets. To do this, we had to resort to third-party applications or tricks that we found in the different forums. WhatsApp for iPad, a big step for users
We still don't know what WhatsApp will be like on the iPad. Lo will most likely ask you to scan the code to log in. It's how you have to do it on WhatsApp Web, but that's still a mystery.
