- When will Bixby arrive in Spanish?
Do you know Bixby? It is the assistant that Samsung has recently presented. It is present in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ and wants to directly confront Siri or Cortana. However, at this time it is not yet available in Spanish
This means that many users are still not interested in having it activated. And in this sense, Samsung had not made it easy. Until now. Because finally an update has arrived that will allow you to permanently deactivate the Bixby assistant.
Almost two months ago, Samsung released a first update that promised to give users the key to disable Bixby. And it worked, but partially. The Bixby button could respond the same to pressure and activate again The update that comes now, according to Sammobile, will allow the Bixby assistant to be completely disabled. And keep it perfectly silent until the Spanish version arrives.
You can now completely disable Bixby
To disable Bixby on your Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+ or Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (remember that this is also compatible with the assistant), you will have to download the new update Samsung just released it today, so you should be able to download it in the next few hours or days.
We recommend carry out the pertinent checks, accessing the application directly. Please note that it may not be available yet. If you can't find it yet, all you can do is wait a little longer. Otherwise, follow these steps:
1. Access the Bixby app and tap on the "More" option. These are the three dots at the top right.
2. Then select My Apps. Check if there is a new version. Select it by clicking on it.
3. Finally, choose Update > Update all. After you've installed that edition, you should be able to access the new Bixby and change settings.
Set Bixby to turn it off permanently
After the app is updated, you will have the opportunity to access Bixby settings. And from there you can permanently deactivate the assistant. Which is the objective that we are pursuing at this moment.
The Bixby button will stop responding for all those who have configured it with this will. That is why it is important that, after updating the application, we get to work in the settings section.
You will have to choose the option that allows not to activate Bixby when you press the dedicated button.
When will Bixby arrive in Spanish?
Bixby is currently available in over 200 countries. But the truth is that it has not yet landed in Spanish. This means that for many users, using this virtual assistant is not useful at all. But, when will the edition in our language arrive?
At the moment, the wizard is operational in Korean (Samsung's country of origin), English, and Chinese. However, and as happened with English, language difficulties have caused the Spanish version to be delayed. On a grammatical level, our language is a bit more complex, so it is most likely that Bixby Voice will not be operational in Spanish until next 2018
That's probably when the Bixby button will really come in handy. And we can turn it back on. In the meantime, we hope you find these instructions useful.
