5 features we miss on Instagram
Table of contents:
- Split Screen and Android Shortcut
- Be able to edit already published images
- Order the publications as we want
- Configure live notifications
- Night mode
Instagram is one of the best social networks out there today. It is different and very entertaining. Above all, for photography lovers. The social network allows us to post images on a wall, and we can comment, share or like other posts. In addition to other very interesting features. But we miss some. Next, we show you 5.
Split Screen and Android Shortcut
With Android 7.0 Nougat came split screen. This option allows us to open two applications at the same time and use them at the same time. Most apps, especially those from Google and other social networks, are compatible. But not Instagram. With the Instagram app we cannot use the split screen, it is not compatible. We still don't know why, but many times we are looking forward to using this option. On the other hand, the Instagram application is not compatible with shortcuts either, which also arrived with Android 7.0 Nougat This option allows us to have shortcuts on the icon Instagram, without having to enter the application. In this way, we could, for example, see a featured profile, or select a preferred user.
Be able to edit already published images
In a way, we can edit the images. We can remove them, or edit the post comment, that last feature was added not long ago. But we mean being able to edit the images, change the filters, saturation, crop it, etc. Even when it's already posted. Unfortunately this is not possible, and many times (especially on old photos) we wish we could change that filter, or remove the excess HDR. In addition, ( although this is a lot to ask for) we would like to have an option to change the location of the images, so that we can color our Instagram profile as we wish.
Order the publications as we want
In the beginning of Instagram, the publications of your followers were ordered by publication time That is, if a follower of yours uploaded a image two minutes ago, appeared in first position. So on.Instagram has decided to change this and post in order of preference. That is to say, the users who have interacted the most (those who have visited, commented, mentioned, etc.) will appear first. This option cannot be changed, and some of us prefer the most recent posts to appear first instead of the most relevant ones.
Configure live notifications
Whenever a user makes a live video, we get a notification on our mobile. Most of the time, the notification that pops up is from a relevant user, a user that we have interacted with many times. Still, it is annoying to receive a notification every time you make a live video. We are missing a feature that allows us to choose who we want to receive notifications fromFrom which users and for what time. We doubt this feature will come to Instagram, but it wouldn't be bad at all.
Night mode
Night mode, or dark mode, allows us to apply a darker theme to an application to rest our eyes, especially at night. The social network Twitter includes this mode, even in the desktop version. On the other hand, Instagram still continues with the white mode, which, although it is very beautiful visually, does not allow us to rest our eyes And confess it, you also look at Instagram before to fall asleep.
Probably some of these features will come to Instagram sooner or later. Unfortunately, the social network is now focused on adding news to its history.
