The Facebook Workplace tool, Facebook's work chat, is leaving its beta phase and it is now fully available to any user. You only need to register to start using the desktop version.

Facebook Workplace is now available to everyone

About a year ago, Mark Zuckerberg's social network launched Facebook Workplace, a team chat tool focused on work groupsWith this, it was intended to compete with Slack, the most fashionable service in the business environment.

However, Facebook Workplace remained in beta, both for desktop and mobile, for many months.

Now anyone can register to use the tool with their work team. Additionally, Facebook announced that video calling will also be coming to Workplace in the coming weeks.

What does Facebook Workplace offer and how much does it cost?

As a reference, we can say that Workplace works like a Facebook group, but focused on the work environment and designed for work teams.

Within the team's virtual space, members can share videos, photos and all kinds of content, make video calls with colleagues and upload text or PDF files.

There is a free version of Facebook Workplace with a number of functions, more limited than the paid option. It offers: chats, live video, video and voice calls, unlimited file storage and unlimited number of workgroups.

The paid or Premium version adds many other options perfect for larger groups, such as APIs, bots, integration with the Google Suite applications and tools for company support teams.

Facebook Workplace Premium has the following prices (monthly):

• 3 dollars (2.5 euros) for each user, for the first 1000 users.

• For the next 9,000 users, $2 per month per user (1.7 euros).
• 1 dollar (less than one euro) extra for each additional user from those figures.

The paid plan has a 90-day free trial. In addition, workers at NGOs and educational institutions (such as universities) can request access to the full Facebook Workplace service at no cost.
