How to share your Instagram Stories on Facebook
Table of contents:
Instagram keeps updating itself with filters and news for its Stories. Now he announces another really useful functionality. Through TechCrunch we found out what it is: an integration with Facebook Stories. In this way, we can ensure that our Instagram posts also reach a broader audience, that of Facebook.
Besides, given that the stories of the older brother of Instagram were not very successful, this measure could help boost their use. We are going to show you how to share your Instagram Stories posts on Facebook Stories.
Sharing on Android
The way to share these Stories is not the same on iPhone and Android. Let's first see how to do it for the Google operating system. In the option Story settings, under the camera, we find the Shared content menu. There we can decide if we want other users to share our Stories or not. Now, in addition, a new option appears, called Share your story on Facebook.
If we activate it, when we make an Instagram Stories publication, it will be automatically shared to our Facebook profile as a story We wanted try it, and indeed, that's how it happens, instantly: we find the story on both Instagram and Facebook.
As we can see, it is a very simple process. The only con is that, if we only want some publications to appear on Facebook, we have to be activating and deactivating the option within Story Settings.
iPhone version
In the case of iOS, the tool works in the opposite way. Instead of automating the operation, it is offered to us as one more option in the story submission menu. iPhone users have the ability to send Stories directly to the Your Story section, or send it to specific groups. In that menu, a new option now appears, which is Send to Facebook.
From what we have been able to verify, this function has the iOS version in Spain has not yet arrived, so we will share this fun TechCrunch screenshot illustrating how the sending menu for Instagram should appear on iPhone: we see that just below the option to send to our story we have a share option, with a Facebook icon. When clicked, the story will also be shared on this other network.
This way, we have control over which stories we send to Facebook and which we don't. The problem comes if we want to automate the function and forget to sync every time, since we can't do it.
Nothing for company
An important detail of this new function is that it is only available for personal profiles Instagram business profiles, linked to the corresponding Facebook page, cannot enjoy this synchronization. The reason is simple: there is no Facebook Stories function (at least not yet) for pages, only for profiles. Therefore, this integration cannot be performed.
There is no doubt that we are in a slow but inexorable process of fusion between these two great platforms that are Instagram and FacebookSharing content in the form of Stories is one more step towards an inevitable convergence. We have also seen how, little by little, the design of the two apps and pages has been getting closer. The next logical step is to integrate the other big company-owned company, WhatsApp. If this Stories integration works with Facebook, why not add it to the messaging platform as well? We'll keep you posted as this new feature progresses.
