Use the tags to find notes easily
Each note that we write in Google Keep can be perfectly classified using tags or labels. Some of them are already predetermined by the application, such as 'Inspiration' or 'Work'. You can edit them, put them in Spanish, or delete them and create new ones from the beginning. How to locate tags in Google Keep?
- Opens the menu hamburger with three stripes that we see in the upper left part of the application. Here we can find different ways to configure the notes application.
- Let's go to the 'Labels' section. Right next to it, we see ‘Edit‘. Click on this option.
- On the next screen we can both edit those that are already predetermined and create new ones. Just click on the editing pencil to rewrite the ones you created or click on 'Create new label' to add your own.
- To assign a label to a certain note, we simply writeplus the said label in the note itself. For example, personal or work. We can also add them by clicking on the three dots icon that we see in the lower right part of the note itself.
Turn any photo into text
Imagine that you take a photo of some notes and you want to send the word text to your email. Now you have it very simple with the Google Keep application. To convert a photograph into text, we have to do the following:
- Click on the camera icon that we see in the bottom bar of the application.
- Take the photograph of the text that we want. Once done, click on it.
- Look at the top right, three-dot icon. Click on it.
- At the top, you have the option 'Saved Image Text'. Choose this option and, after a short time, you will have the text that you can copy and paste into a word document and send it to your email.
Create checkboxes in a list
Imagine you are making a shopping list. When we have it on paper, we usually take a pen to go crossing out the items we put in the cart. But how to do it on mobile? We have two ways to create a list with checkboxes.
The first is by creating the items next to the box itself. To do this, you just have to look at the bottom bar, the first icon. You will see that it has list form Click and add the different items. Each time you press 'Enter' a new box will be added.
Once you have made the shopping list, you may have forgotten the previous step. Therefore, you only have a series of articles without a box. Well, there is a way to add them later:
- Once you have the list, click on the icon '+' that you have at the bottom left of the note.
- A series of options will be displayed: we will choose the last one, 'Checkboxes'. A checkbox will automatically be applied next to each item created. To discard them, you just have to check each box.
Save Links in Google Keep Notes
Every day, we enter dozens and dozens of websites, perhaps hundreds. And in some of them there is information that can be useful to us at another time. Instead of creating the page as a bookmark in Chrome's own bookmarks, there is another way to save the links and have them arranged in a clean and clear way. For example, we search Wikipedia for information on a topic. And we want to quickly go back to that link. We do the following:
In Chrome, and with the page we want to save open, click on the menu of three points that we see in the upper right part . Here, we are going to click on 'Share' and choose 'Keep' from the list of applications.
A new note will then be created with the URL of the website, the title of the page and a small identifying photograph of the same, so that you have them perfectly located.
Create a color code to organize your notes
Always try to link a color to a label. Until the application itself gives you this function, you will have to memorize each color related to its label (or create a note with the label and the color that will serve as a cheat sheet each time). You have 8 colors available, so you can create 8 different labels. For example:
- Blue – Inspiration
- Yellow – Work
- Green – Shopping lists
- Gray – Reminders / Appointments
