Facebook plans to create private profiles just for your friends
Table of contents:
Many times you want to share things on Facebook that you don't want the whole world to see. While there's a formula for limiting posts to those who aren't your closest circle – or who you just don't want poking their noses in your stuff – now Facebook plans to create private profilesProfiles that would only be accessible to friends you choose.
As revealed by Matt Navarra, a journalist for The Next Web, the social network is testing a new feature. It would be a function that would allow users to set up a private profile, which would only be accessible to the user's closest friends A function that would come in handy for everyone those who without any logic accumulate hundreds of friends in their ranks.
We all know that it is physically impossible to trust all the friends we have on Facebook. But what does this function really consist of? And when can we use it in our profile?

Private profiles on Facebook, only for true friends
Actually, the discovery was made by Devesh Logendran, who found this feature in the Facebook APK for Android beta. What does this mean? Well, this is still an experimental feature, in the making, which promises not to be available until later But we can't know when yet.
In fact, when you click on the green button “Create a private profile” nothing happens. The functionality is not yet operational. We understand, however, that it will be a kind of separate profile, easier to configure than the different current privacy options. And in which users will be able to select those friends (or relatives) who really are part of their most intimate circle
Probably what Facebook is looking for is to increase the chances that people will continue posting their most intimate things on the network And that they don't stop to do it because of those who are not so friends, but who are nevertheless part of their network of colleagues on Facebook.
What about Facebook's privacy options?
You probably thought right away that Facebook already has different options for the user to control their privacy This is true and in fact, This is a feature that we should all use. It happens that configuring the different options on Facebook is not an easy task. Not even for an advanced user.
Currently, what users can do to protect their Facebook profile and posts is as follows:
- Limit Who Can See Your Stuff Within the Settings and Privacy section, you have the option to select who can see the posts you they do from then on. Luckily, there is also the possibility to limit old posts.
- Hide the list of friends. It is another option that will prevent others from seeing which friends you have in your circle of friends. It can be configured from this same section.
- Choose who can contact them. It is about authorizing or disabling different Facebook users to request friendship. You can choose everyone, but also only friends of friends or simply no one.
- Configure who can search for you. Either through your email address or by phone number. If someone searches by name (unless the name has been blocked) they will be able to find the user without any problem.
- Do not appear in Google searches. Facebook also allows users to choose whether or not their profile appears in Google search results.
- Block People It is possible to block people in different ways (block their requests to play, block invitations to events, etc.), but there is a formula that makes them disappear from the map. Neither users can find them on the network, nor can they be found by that profile.
Unfortunately, configuring all these options and above all Limiting posts to certain profiles can be very tedious So much so that we may eventually end up abandoning. We hope that the private Facebook profile thrives and can make it (finally) much easier for us to protect our data.
