Google Maps now helps you find parking

The official Google blog has just published a piece of news that users of the application who usually take the car every day to get around the city will love. Now we will be able to see if there are free parking spaces in 25 cities around the world, including some important cities in our country. At the moment, there are only 25 cities included in this update. We hope that time will help its developers to implement more every day, to make life (and circulation) easier for all of us.
In order to have this feature enabled, you will need to download and install the latest update of the Google Maps application. At the moment, these are the cities in the world where this application works.
In alphabetical order, Alicante, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Cologne, Darmstadt, Dusseldorf, London, Madrid, Málaga, Manchester, Milan, Montreal, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Sao Paulo, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Toronto, Valencia and Vancouver. It is in these cities where Google Maps will be able to notify you, indicating which areas are more saturated, in order to find better parking.
When is the best time to park? Google Maps tells you
To find out if you're going to have problems parking, just do the following:
- Have, of course, downloaded the latest version of Google Maps. You have it completely free in the Android application store.
- Search for the site you are going to go to. We place the destination in the search bar at the top of the application and click on 'How to get there'. When the following screen appears, you will notice that a new icon appears: the distinguishable 'P' for 'Parking'.
- If we click on that 'P', the application will give us information about the status of the car park in that area. If it is a place that is crowded, where it is difficult to find parking, a message will appear in which you can read 'It is not usually easy to park near this destination'. Accompanying this legend, we will find a time line in which we will see which time slots are more crowded than others. A function similar to the one we have to see if a bar is crowded or not.
So now you know, if you are in any of the cities mentioned above, Google Maps will help you find parking more easily. Hopefully these cities will be expanded in later updates.
