WhatsApp includes new shortcuts in its latest update
Table of contents:
From Android 7 Nougat, the icons of the applications that we put on the desktop had surprises. And we say surprise because it is the first time that, by leaving them pressed, with the native launcher we could access various options. Options, of course, that are related to the application itself. Let's explain ourselves: if you keep the Maps icon pressed, several sub-icons with different sections will appear. For example, one that shows you the way to get home. Another, for the way to work. Also, if you hold down these balloons with icons, similar to those of WhatsApp chat, we can convert them, in turn, into icons.
New shortcuts in WhatsApp
In the following screenshot we can see how the Maps shortcuts emerge and how, in turn, we convert them into icons.
These shortcuts are usually found, of course, in Google's own applications. However, other important applications such as WhatsApp also incorporate them. In the new beta of the application we find new shortcut icons, which will make it easier for us to write to the most frequent contacts. If you want to test the new shortcuts, just enter the WhatsApp beta access program and then download the beta app. On that same screen you will have the direct link to the app.
The shortcuts that you can find now in the new WhatsApp update are four, of two different kinds:
On the one hand, we have three frequent contacts that we can select and place as our own icons, as we saw with the example of Google Maps. Thus, we will have quicker access to our best friend's or partner's WhatsApp.
The last shortcut is the camera. Because? Here we see how WhatsApp undoubtedly wants you to stop wasting time and start uploading states. We recently saw how many Instagram stories are already uploaded as WhatsApp states. No less than 250 million users use these two forms of ephemeral communication on a daily basis.
