How to send self-destructing photos on Telegram

Snapchat kicked off the sending of temporary photos, snapshots that were deleted from the application after a certain amount of time. A method that served to improve the privacy of all users of social networks, since nothing remained forever in them. Snapchat was quickly followed by Instagram, Facebook and even WhatsApp, in a movement that was highly criticized in its day. Now, a new Telegram update allows you to send temporary photos that self-destruct in a certain time.

Send photos that self-destruct with Telegram

It is very easy to send temporary photos with Telegram. You just have to make sure that you download the correct version. In this case, we will see that it is 4.2. If we have an older one, we will have to wait. If you don't have Telegram on your mobile yet, go to the Google Play app store, download and install it. It's totally free.

If you want to send photos that self-destruct, as soon as you finish configuring your new Telegram you will have to do the following:

• Look through your contacts and open a chat window
• In the writing bar you will see, on the right, a clip and a microphone icon. Click on the clip icon.
• Among the different options you can find, you have to click on the camera icon. At that moment, Telegram's own camera application will open, with which you can capture a photo.
• Once the photo is taken, the editor opens automatically. Among the different options that it offers you, we will choose the last of all. If you look below, you will find a timer icon. Press it.

• Here you can choose the time in which the photo will be available to the recipient. The photo viewing time ranges from 1 second to 1 minute. Once the time you have assigned to it is over, it will disappear forever.
• The recipient will be able to see the temporary photo if they have an updated version of Telegram. If not, a message will ask you to do so in the app store.
• This feature is only available in one-to-one chats. You will not be able to send temporary photos in group chats.
