5 HBO App Features You Can't Miss

How series are organized in the HBO app

As soon as you start your free month of HBO install the HBO app directly from Google Play. As soon as you enter your data, you will be able to connect and watch all the series and movies in the catalog. You should know that this application is quite simple to use and very intuitive. Let's first see how the series are classified.

To go directly to the series menu, you just have to click on the three-line hamburger menu that you find next to the word 'Start'. At that moment, a drop-down menu will appear with the categories of the application. We enter the one that interests us, 'Series'.

In 'Series' you have two very different sections. The first is 'Featured' content which, in turn, can also be found in different subsections. These are:

Each subsection shows you the thumbnails corresponding to each series in gallery form. You just have to scroll your finger laterally until you find the one you want to see.

The other great series section on HBO is 'All series'. If you know which series you want to see and you don't need any classification, enter here and you'll see them all alphabetically ordered You also have, at the top, a magnifying glass icon where you can write the name of the series and access it directly.

HBO Spain Discover

Within the HBO application you have a section where you can more easily find the series you are looking for.Or simply discover one you didn't even know existed. On the home screen, in the animated gallery, you must scroll until you find 'HBO Spain Discover'. If you click, it will send you directly to the browser where you can configure the genre of your favorite series. You can activate that only comedies and period ones appear, or those of suspense and fantasy. Or just the drama ones. Press the switches to change the options and thus discover new series.

How movies are organized in the HBO app

If you are a movie lover, HBO offers you in its catalog enough material to spend a good weekend of movies. You just have to enter the application, go back to the hamburger menu and click, this time, on 'Movies'. Here the classification we see that it is expanded. As before, we have the featured categories:

In 'Genre' you have the movies classified according to, worth the redundancy, by genre. If you fancy a comedy, horror, a good documentary, a stand-up comedy or something science fiction, this is your place.

Finally, you have all the films in the catalog in alphabetical order, in case you want to search for a specific title.

HBO App Family Section

Congratulations, parents. The HBO application has, by default, two profiles created: your personal one and one for your family. In the family section you can have, at hand, all the specific family content so that you can enjoy it with your little ones. Early childhood series, for teenagers, Disney movies and for the whole family... Any content that may contain material not suitable for minors is outside this section of the application. Something tremendously practical, because you can rest assured that your child will not access non-recommended series or movies.

Among the featured material in the 'Family' section we can find Disney classics like 'The Aristocats', 'Pinocchio' or 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame', series like 'iCarly', 'Once upon a time … space' or 'SpongeBob'.

HBO App Connectivity

A very short time ago, HBO finally started rolling out its smart TV app for Samsung TVs. Also, recently, PS4 users can also enjoy HBO on their TV. It didn't make sense that a streaming platform didn't have its own app to watch the content on TV. Until now, the only way to watch HBO content on your TV was using the Chromecast The Chromecast is an HDMI dongle that plugs into your TV and converts it into a smart TV, transforming your mobile into a remote control.

If you're going on a trip, you want to watch HBO on the TV in the summer house and you have Chromecast, you should do the following :

Search for the content you want to watch and press Play. Full-screen playback will begin.

Look at the top corner.You should find the Chromecast logo Press it and, at that moment, the HBO screen will be launched on your television, beginning the playback of the content. To adjust the audio and sub titles, you just have to click on the other icon that you can also see at the top, in the shape of a white rectangle. A pop-up window will appear in which you can choose in which language you want to see the movie and the sub titles.

As you can see, although we still lack the download to watch offline content, the HBO application is quite complete, although it still experiences many errors. To enjoy it you just have to download and install it on your phone. And spend a weekend out of the ordinary.
