Instagram will remove any offensive comments on its network
Table of contents:
According to the technology website Engadget, Instagram will soon begin using Facebook's artificial intelligence to detect humiliating and offensive language and instantly remove it from your site. Said artificial intelligence, called DeepText, has just been used by Mark Zuckerberg's social network for the same purpose. Thus, there will come a time when you understand the mechanisms of human language and the intention with which we use it. The purpose of language is essential to detect hate crimes.Simply the written word, by itself, does not implicitly contain a message. It all depends on the intention with which it is said. And this is where the mess begins.
DeepText and Facebook against bullying and spam
In the beginning, the DeepText learning process was quite rudimentary: company workers were asked to mark, by hand, hundreds and hundreds of spam messages, promoted by hundreds of other users . These marked comments then became part of the DeepText code, creating an algorithm from the transferred information. Thus, DeepText could 'guess' which comments might have advertising intentions and which might not. They then applied the algorithm created by DeepText to all comments from people not suspected of spam, in case they missed something.
How to block offensive words on Instagram
For now, and until Instagram and Facebook develop DeepText to its full potential, you will be able to block words that you find offensive on the photography social network. To do this, open your Instagram account and enter your personal page. At the top right you will find the three-dot menu Press it.
Search in the 'Settings' section for the 'Comments' section. Here you must have the option 'Hide inappropriate comments' activated. In ‘Custom Keyboards’ enter all the words you want to block, separated by words. This way you will make sure that any message that includes any of the blocked words will not appear to you.
