7 tricks you don't know about the Android Play Store
Prevent apps from being added to the home screen
Once we are in the Play Store, we start downloading like crazy. We see one, two, three apps that we love. What do we want to try? And, once installed, we see that all have appeared on the start screen. Something that can be a nuisance, if we already have the desktop perfectly configured to our liking .
To prevent applications from being added once downloaded, enter the application and swipe the screen to the right. The menu screen will open in which you will have to choose the 'Settings' section. Once inside, uncheck the 'Add icon to home screen' option. Once unchecked, icons will never be added to the home screen again , having to do it manually.
Refine your app search even further
If we want to find a game, more specifically a puzzle, but with certain characteristics, the Play Store makes it really easy for us. They recently updated their new suggested search for everyone, an option that makes finding the perfect app much easier.
For example: to search for a logic puzzle, we go to the application and, in the magnifying glass, we put 'Puzzle'. Below we see how the application has suggested, through colored blocks, a series of terms related to 'Puzzle': 'Block', 'Word', ' Logic', 'Crossword'.In this case, obviously, you would have to click on 'Logic' to access the logic puzzles in the Play Store.
Once you have selected the subcategory, all the logic puzzles in the Play Store will appear. If you want to delete the label, click on the »X» and the previous screen will appear again.
Share paid apps with family
With the family… or with whoever you want. A new option in the Play Store with which you can share paid applications without costing the rest of the guests a single penny. Now, all the apps that you buy have an option to be able to 'gift' it to anyone you want. You can include up to 6 people in the family collection from the Play Store.
To create your family collection, enter the side menu of the Play Store and then click on 'Account'.Within 'Account' click on 'Family' and 'Manage family members'. Here you can send up to 6 invitations to whoever you want. Once they accept the invitation, they will go to your family collection. Automatically, the applications that they buy can also be available to you.
To see the apps in your family account, just enter the Menu > My apps and games' and look for the 'Family collection' column. If you want to install any of these applications you will only have to enter the desired one. You will have it available totally free.
Choose how apps are updated
Be careful when choosing how to download the updates. Make sure that they only download automatically when you're under a WiFi connection. Otherwise, your precious data could fly, no matter how many gigabytes that operators now offer. To make sure the conditions under which you download the applications, we do the following:
We return to the Play Store side menu and then 'Settings'. In the 'General' section, in 'Update applications automatically', click to access the different options. Here we must make sure that the last point is checked: 'Automatically update applications only through WiFi'. You have two other options: 'Never update applications' or 'Automatically update applications at any time'. Logically, we advise you to check the last option, as seen in the screenshot.
Request fingerprint on all purchases
If guessing a password is possible, substituting a fingerprint is less plausible. Although be careful with naps, there has been a case of spending on games using the fingers of sleeping mothers. In order for all purchases to go through fingerprint authentication, you must do the following:
In the side menu, section 'Account' and 'User controls', mark 'Fingerprint authentication'. From now, every time you make a purchase, you can verify that you are the owner of that account, only through your fingerprint. No passwords worth. A security plus so you don't get scared on the bill.
How to charge your application purchases on the Movistar bill
Movistar joined Android to make your application purchases easier. If you do not want to associate any card and do not have a Paypal account, you can associate your Movistar invoice to pay for the apps monthly. Without revealing data that endangers your current accounts ( although the association of the card in the Play Store is a completely safe procedure).
To associate your Play Store payments in the Movistar invoice, you just have to go to the side menu in the application and then 'Account'. In 'Payment methods' and 'Add a payment method' see where you can read 'Use Movistar billing' If you press, an SMS will be sent directly to your operator, which will proceed to give permission for you to use the bill as regular payment. From now on, at the top of the payment methods, 'Bill my Movistar account' will appear.
Prevent certain apps from updating automatically
There is a way to prevent apps from updating automatically, neither on WiFi nor on data. We already saw it in the previous point “Choose how applications are updated”. But, what if we don't want certain apps to be updated but others do?
To prevent some applications from updating automatically, we go to the app in question and click on the three-point menu that you can find at the top right of the screen. A window will appear that you have to uncheck. With this gesture, will prevent the application from updating unless you give the command.
