This will be the new emoticons in Android 8 O
Table of contents:
Since the version of Android 4.4 KitKat, we have been observing that the emoticons representing faces did not have a shape that corresponded to what we observed in other systems. You are shaped like a jelly bean, as you can see in the following screenshot (or on the Android keyboard, right now). Starting with Android 8 O, these emoticons will tend to disappear, giving way to others that are more recognizable and universal.
Goodbye to Android emoticons as we know them
Open WhatsApp. Notice how the face emoticons are circular, right? Now, open the Android keyboard. Some nice faces in the shape of a jelly bean greet us. There is a noticeable difference, right? Well, when we update to Android 8 O we will have new ones, much more adapted to material design and more universal. We can see the difference in the following photograph, taken from the Engadget site.
The new emoticons of Android 8 O will arrive with a wider range of colors, more conventional (referring to more recognizable throughout the world) and with a gradient background. And this is not all: there will also be new characters to the collection As we can see in the previous photograph, in addition to the more conventional faces, we can see a zombie. In addition, according to Google itself, we can see a heart-shaped orange, a face vomiting and creatures like giraffes or dinosaurs.
In addition, these new emoticons can be seen when they are sent to those who do not yet have Android 8 O, as promised by Google. Now, when we sent a new emoticon to someone who didn't have it yet, it just didn't show up. With this new update, even if they are not able to send them, they will be able to view them from their old mobile.
Google ensures, with this update, that its emoticons adapt to what everyone recognizes as such, and adapting to any terminal.
