How to use Google Keep to write your journal online
Table of contents:
Google Keep, Google's cloud notes application, has many more uses than you imagined. Today we will tell you how you can use the service to write your online diary and store all your memories, including texts, images and links to web pages
Step 1: Prepare Google Keep to be your journal
We recommend that you use a Google Keep account only for your diary (this way you would avoid confusion with other types of notes). You can create a new Google account for that purpose, but if you'd rather keep everything together, you might want to do some cleanup and space first
First of all, archives all the notes you don't need “by hand” constantly every time you open the app. This action “hides” the notes without deleting them, and you can access them whenever you want using the search tool.
Once you've made space, the next step is to organize all your notes by tags and create specific tags for your journal. In this way, it will be much easier to access all the notes of the same theme at once.
We recommend creating labels by dates and using month numbers, to make it easier to scroll through the journal chronologically. For example, all notes for May would be labeled "2017-05".
Step 2: How to Write a Note Every Day
Go to Google Keep and start writing a new note. Follow these instructions to keep your journal perfectly organized.
- In the title of the note, write the current date, noting first the year, then the month, and then the day. For example, for June 8, you would write "2017-06-08". It may seem like an impractical system, but it will help you when you need to search for a specific day.
- Click on the button in the lower right corner to add the label of the corresponding month and a specific color for the note. You can use different colors according to your mood.
- Write as much as you want in the content of the note.
You're all set to save!
Remember that you can also add images, drawings or audio recordings to your notes. All these options are available in the drop-down menu in the lower left corner.
When you have saved the note, you can see it on the main screen and find it directly inside the corresponding label. All your content will appear, including added items (photos, drawings, etc.).
