Most of us users agree. The Reactions and Mentions that we regularly use on Facebook should have been available in the app from the beginning.
From now on, the iOS and Android apps will have virtually the same features as the original and desktop version.
Facebook has announced that this feature will be available globally. This means that it should reach all users progressively and without exception.
Mentions in group chats
One of the most important novelties has to do with the Mentions system With this new feature, which by the way is already available in many other services and applications, users will be notified immediately. In fact, if you have used tools like Twitter or Slack you will feel very comfortable with the system.
To mention someone you just have to write the @ symbol and immediately afterwards, the nickname or name of the person. You can also start typing the name and then select the person who appears on the list.
How do I know if I mentioned correctly? Well, very easy. When you do, the person's name will appear in highlighted text. The mentioned person will receive a special notification,so you will have a better chance of them seeing the message sooner and therefore responding to you faster.
The rest of the members of the conversation will also will receive a normal notification (the one of the group chat), but not the one specific to the mention (which only the interested party will receive).
Reactions and mentions will be coming soonReactions with smileys
From now on, as we mentioned at the beginning, we will also have reactions available in Messenger Users who want to react to ideas, messages and other content published through the Facebook messaging service may also do so.
A total of seven reactions are included, including thumbs up and thumbs down. We will also have icons to indicate that we love something, amuses us, amazes us, makes us angry or sadAs you can see, these are all the reactions we are already familiar with and have used a bunch of times.
