How to check bus stops and schedules with Google Maps

With your mobile in tow it's hard to get lost. Even the person with the least sense of direction knows where to go. Google Maps has become, in its own right, an indispensable tool. How to go to that street, what ATMs are nearby. You can even share your favorite places. Even know exactly when a bus arrives.

With Maps, traveling by bus is more pleasant

Imagine the situation: you are in a traveling city and you need to take a bus lineYou know the number but not where it is, or how long it can take. Fear not, that Google Maps gives you the job totally chewed up. In a very simple and intuitive way you can:

• Place on the map all nearby bus stops to your current location.
• Find out at what time the line you want to take runs, as well as the rest of the lines at the stop. So you can plan your trip and not have to wait too long.
• Learn how to get to the selected stop.

You don't even have to be traveling: in your own city there are innumerable stops that you don't know and that can be of great help to get to a certain placeYou can use this method in two ways: either directly on the home screen, clicking on the bus or marking a route, and choosing the bus as the means of transportation.

Home screen: press and go

If you open the Google Maps application, the first thing you see is a map of your area. If you look at the bottom, you can distinguish four icons: a location sign, a car, a bus and three dots. Click on the bus icon. It will be displayed a tab with all the nearby stops. Swipe left and right to see them all. You must select the one you want to list all the schedules of all the lines of the same.

The stop screen is divided into 3 parts: the line number you can take at that stop, the direction that line goes to and the time the one that will happen. If you click on one of the lines, we will be able to see the full itinerary of the same and the approximate time that it will pass through some relevant sites.

If you want to know where the stop is, choose this option: the typical Maps browser will open where you can follow the directions to reach your destination safe and sound. Just tap on the compass icon and follow the voice prompts.

Mark route and choose transport

If you prefer to choose the destination you want to reach and then choose the bus as your means of transportation, the steps to follow are tremendously simple. Open Maps and click on the lower right icon in blue with an arrow.Above all, you will see two spaces to fill in: the starting point and destination. When you have both, simply select the second icon corresponding to the bus and click to see more details.

This option, however, does not tell you what time the lines you have to take pass. For detailed information, it is better that you follow the instructions in the first section. You will never again have to wait a long time at the stop, with the consequent loss of time. Although hey… you can always take the opportunity to play a retro game on Android.
