How to create simple animations with Animator
An application that you can download today for free. His name, Animator. It has a 4-star rating in the store and we have tested it and we can tell you that it works quite well. Don't expect any professional design results, but we can't forget that it's free. When downloading and installing it, we will proceed to open it and this is what we find.
The interface is clear and simple: we find a series of jobs already done that, if we select and download, we can see what the production process was. We cannot discourage you: with a little dexterity and the help of an electronic pointer we can bring out the entertainer in us. Of course, you can get more out of this app on a tablet. Still, it can be used on a phone.
If we want to start creating a new project, we just have to hit the red button with the sign »+»This button serves as a menu to select between various types of work: a GIF created, from scratch, with our drawings and a paper background, ("Paper"), a GIF using photos that we take at the moment ("Camera"), GIF with photos that we have in the gallery ("Gallery") or a new project completely blank.
GIF Paper
Let's make a GIF with a paper background. To do this, press the red “+” button and select “Paper”. Our work panel will open. Next, you must follow the following steps:
- Select background paper. There are rough, opaque, monochrome, textured…
- Once selected, we give the upper right blue arrow. This means that we are ready to go to the next step.
- If you look at the bottom of the screen, you will see a series of elements that will be of great help when creating the animated illustration. You have, from left to right, a palette of colors, 30 different types of brushes that you can change the size and opacity of; an eraser, preset shapes, paint bucket and free selection.
- Draw the first object you want on the first piece of paper. Imagine that you want to make a stick figure with an umbrella and it is raining. On the first paper we must draw the doll with the umbrella and the rain. In the second, for example, less rain and the doll picking up the umbrella. In the third and last drawing, the doll is already walking through a sunny environment.
- You must add the drawings as you make them by pressing the "+" symbol When you have finished your artwork, press »next» (arrow on red background). The animation will run at full speed. Don't worry, you can later adjust it to how you want it. Click on the “next” button at the top right. Name the project and change the animation speed. We already have our little film finished.
- Of course, you can then save the GIFs and share them via Whatsapp or your favorite social network.
GIF Camera and Gallery
Take or choose from the gallery a photo of the motif you want. This photo will be the background on which you will work. In this example, we have a photo of a cat. The controls are the same. We can draw on the photo what we want. The procedure is the same as in the previous section, but instead of folio we work on photo.
