Google Allo arrives in desktop version for our PC
Table of contents:
No press conferences or official statements. Everything has come out as a result of a publication on Twitter by Nick Fox, Google's vice president of communications. In his message, he shared a screenshot of a PC showing Google Allo installedOf course, as soon as it was done, the speculations began. But no more phrase has come out of the keyboard of Nick Fox, nor another representative of Google. How they like to make us suffer.
What we see in the screenshot is simply an adaptation of the mobile messaging app to a desktop environment, with all the latest conversations at hand and the current conversation window taking up much of the screen.Nothing that we have not already seen in the PC versions of WhatsApp or Telegram.
From there, the rest are rumors: Will this version of Google Allo be limited to a single specific terminal, as in its mobile version, or will it be an account independent? If it is the latter, it could be a great step forward to get this service implemented more generally in a sector with a lot of competition.
Too many apps
Many users (even on Fox's own thread) have complained that Google has too many applications dedicated to communication, and that it would help a lot if they put together Duo, Voice , Allo and Hangouts on a single platform However, the announcement of Android Messages as a way to revamp native Android SMS apps suggests that Google has no intention of going in that direction.
This new version of Google Allo could be interesting if it is accompanied by other integrative measures that encourage new users to switch and stop using WhatsApp and Telegram side. We will wait for more confirmations to know where this story ends.
