How comments work in WhatsApp States
Table of contents:
The last company to get on the ship of posts with a limited life, after Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories, has been WhatsApp . Its new States play with the same concept. Videos and photos that disappear after 24 hours to which emoticons and other effects can be added.
These States come to replace the so-called states, but which only consisted of phrases that almost resembled a general description, a bit like the Twitter bio or the moods of the old Windows Messenger. These new States, however, are designed to interact, to be discussed and shared. So, how do we do it to comment?
Procedure
First we must go to the States section (in the lower left menu, next to a circle that dangerously resembles those of Facebook Messenger). There we can see our publications, those that have been recently published among our contacts and those that we have already seen. Marking any of them we can see that we have a option at the bottom that says Reply
If we mark it, the keyboard will open and we will have a bar to write exactly same as the one we have when we want to include a text accompanying a photobefore sending it to another WhatsApp user. We can write text or send emoticons exactly the same as in those cases.
At the end, text messages
When we have finished writing, we hit send, and we will see that our comment does not appear anywhere. Where did that comment go? Simply has been moved to our conversations menu, where we have the rest of our chats. That comment will appear as the last message there.
Of course, we will be able to differentiate these messages from the usual comments because these will appear within a box with a thumbnail capture of the video, and below, yes, our comment in the form of a text message, with its normal gray, double gray or double blue tick depending on whether it has been received or read.
In the same way, we will receive a notification when we receive a comment to a state of ours, but clicking on the notice will redirect us to our conversations menu, where we can reply to the message if we want.
Essentially, it's the same system of Instagram Stories, Facebook Stories, and Snapchat, which started this new fad. Also remember that as users, you can check the Privacy option in your States menu, to choose who you want to see (and comment on) your states. By default all contacts appear, but we can make a black list with contacts that cannot see these statuses, or vice versa, make a white list with the only contacts that can see our publications.
We choose the option we choose, the comments you send us will be totally private, and nobody will know if they have been sent to or not. There is also the option to share our States with other contacts in our calendar, but take a breath because this tool does not work the other way around, that is, your contacts will not be able to share your States with other people. At most, they will be able to take screenshots.
