Table of contents:
Is FM radio destined to disappear? Since we don't pretend to be fortune tellers here and we stick to new technologies, we are going to offer you the opportunity to delve into the world of podcasts, if you still have you didn't do it yourself.
If you want to start in the world of podcasts, this is your place: Podcast Go is an application that you can download from the Android store and, what's more, it's free. And without . With a name similar to the Android game, this app tries to gain a foothold in the world of podcasts. And it comes stomping.
Podcast Go, a complete and free app
Right now you can go to the Android app store and download Podcast Go completely free. Once downloaded and installed, we launch it. Podcast Go has a dark, clean, functional, and no-frills interface. It consists of three well-differentiated parts, although we will only find use in the lower and upper areas of the screen.
Upper area
We found 4 elements in the top bar of the application: the three-bar hamburger menu, the title of the application, the magnifying glass and an additional three-dot menu.
- Hamburger menu: This is where we can find all the categories in which the podcasts are sorted.Imagine a theme and you will have hundreds of them to listen to while you clean, play sports or rest. Even to learn other languages, why not. You have from Art to technology, going through Music, Comedy, Business or He alth. In this section you can also find the podcasts you have downloaded.
- Application name: There is nothing to explain, we simply observe the name of the app as a title.
- Search magnifying glass: Ideal if you know the exact or approximate name of the podcast you are looking for. If they recommend one, if you find out about another by name, instead of going to the category and looking for it among all the ones there, press the magnifying glass and you will find it quickly.
- Three-dot menu: here you can check or uncheck notifications for new podcasts you are subscribed to, rate the app, send content suggestions or share the app via Facebook.
Lower zone
3 bars that occupy a quarter of the application: My podcasts, Categories and Searches. We are going to tell you what we can find in each of them.
My podcasts: here we will find all the podcasts to which we are subscribed
Categories: Exactly the same function as the hamburger menu, where we found podcasts by content genre, whether it was art, science, technology, music, etc.
Search: Like the magnifying glass, here we can search for any podcast whose name we know. We can also, of course, write a keyword of the topic we are looking for, for example cinema, and the app will provide us with results related to it.
And when I download the podcast, what?
Once you have subscribed to the desired podcast, or you have downloaded an episode, we go to the 'My podcasts' section and look for it. Click on it and, automatically, will play full screen. We can turn off the screen that will continue playing without unwanted interruptions. On this screen we can see different options:
Upper area
You can mark the podcast in the tag icon and save it in folders that you create, as bookmarks. This feature is very useful if you are an avid podcast consumer and have multiple subscriptions at once.
On the right side we see a small circle with three points. When pressed, a pop-up window gives us the possibility to see the different episodes of that podcast, the description of the episode that we are currently watching and a timer,in case you want It disconnects only at a certain time.
Lower zone
Here we find the playback console and the time remaining on the podcast. We can simply slide the bar to find a desired point, fast forward the episode or go to the next episode.
If you haven't jumped into the world of podcasts yet, Podcast Go is your perfect excuse.
