All the news of the Google clock application
Although many of us already carry some smartwatch with us, we continue to look at the clock through our mobile phones. In this way, Google updates its well-known clock application with some interesting new features, especially if you travel often. Among the most outstanding novelties of the clock application we find some related to time zones and icon labels. Let's take a closer look at them.
This is the complete list of new features that we can find in version 5.0 of the Google clock:
New labels on icons
Now, icons are accompanied by labels with the corresponding name to which they refer. The four icons already known to all that adorn the upper part of the application, the alarm, the clock, the timer and the stopwatch, are now correspondingly labeled as we can see in the attached photograph.
This addition, which, at first glance, may not seem very useful, can be of great help to anyone who confused some icons with each other, especially between the timer and the stopwatch. Now we will know for sure how to press where it is due.
Stopwatch and Timer Changes
If we go into the timer and stopwatch sections, we can notice some significant changes. In the new update of the Google clock, both sections are now prioritized with text: both the restart options, and sharing, in the case of the stopwatch, such as to delete and add in the timer. We attach a photo so you can see it clearly.
Changes in application source
Now, the typography of the clock application will appear in bold, giving it a more casual, bright and striking appearance.
Changes in the clock section
One of the new features that attracts the most attention in version 5.0 of the clock application has to do with time zones. Now, in the settings, we can set a time from home (the one in our area of habitual residence) and, when we travel abroad, a legend will automatically appear with information about the hours of delay or advance that we suffer.
It is not complicated at all, although in the Spanish version we warn that it can create a bit of confusion, due to a bad translation. For example, to do the test, we have set Canada as the residence time. We are currently in Spain. The time difference is 5 hours ahead. Here at 7, there at 2 in the morning.
Changes from seconds
Now, we can make the application show us the complete time with the seconds, as you can see in the following screenshot. To do this, you just have to go to the settings menu and turn on the option »show time with seconds». Once the change is made, we go to the clock section and you will be able to see how, now, the clock format is even more complete than before.
Where to get the latest update
As always, you can download the latest update, directly, from the website of apkmirror or wait for the notice to pop up. The choice is in your hand.
