Meet FBI Wanted

The FBI has just released an official app called FBI Wanted , where users can access a detailed list of the Most Wanted Criminals in North America. With this app, the government organization seeks to bring these profiles closer to the people, so that the process of identification is accelerated through citizen cooperation As the aim is to provide this information to the user, the app is completely free and available for both systems Android and iOS
The extensive catalog of criminals wanted in the US is a bit far away for us, and our chances of seeing one in Spain are quiteremote ( although you never know). Therefore, the main use that we can give to this application is purely morbid, because that we can put a face to some criminals with terrible records, we can know their history and get lost in reveries about their escape processes
Records
When we enter the application, we go directly to the latest additions to the wanted list (which currently amounts to atotal of 676). We find the files in a reduced version, but by clicking on (read more) we can access detailed information of the subject in question. We are shown a series ofphotos of his face, plus a photo of the last place he was seen.Later, we can access the official search and capture poster, sometimes also in its Spanish version , though not always.
Scrolling down, we reach the part where the FBI announces a reward for any information that may serve to arrest the criminal in question. Rewards range from 5,000 to $250,000, depending on the seriousness of the crime committed and the urgency of securing an arrest. Not all those included in the list have a reward, yes.
After that, we have access to the criminal history, and after that, a complete description of the offender, with his known alias, date of birth, height, weight and other physical characteristics. Finally, we are offered a direct button to call the FBI and another to send clues by message.
In certain tabs we find, right at the beginning, a notice that reads «You are considered armed and dangerous«. When the criminal has already beencaptured , ared band appears on his file to distinguish it from the others. We also have an option to mark favourites, to be able to retrieve that record later without having to get lost in the entire list.

Dialing the icon of the handcuffs (in iOS) or the wrench (on Android) we can access a menu to choose how we want to order the list We can do it by date of publication , of modification of file or by type of crime. We can also access "The case of the week", "The 10 most wanted", or filter by type of criminal: "Fugitives", " Terrorists«, «Bank robbers«or «Kidnappers «.
In short, this is a very complete tool very useful for being able to locate bandits , in addition to an inexhaustible source of material for novelists, screenwriters, criminologists or simply curious.
