Google Maps is updated with new features and design

A long time ago, in a galaxy not too far away, we still used GPS in the car, in addition to our mobile. That changed radically, and now the co-pilot, from his smartphone, tells us where we have to shoot. Or we got rid of the GPS and, in the support, we put the phone, and that's it.

In addition, having mobile navigation is completely free, thanks to applications such as Maps, of Google, which even lets you download maps so you can use them offline later.But the Google application is not only useful for taking you from one place to another: it is a great tourist guide where you can find where to eat and refuel, where to get money and opinions of a lot of establishments. A true Swiss army knife of leisure.

Everything new that we will find in Maps

In the latest update of Maps we can find many more functions and new features that will make navigation a more comfortable, organized and intuitive experience . What can we find new in Google Maps?

The intention of Google with this new Google Maps is offer the user all the information that may be useful in his journey in real time without having to make too many movements. For this reason, now, just by sliding the main screen down, we will have information such as current traffic and how it affects when it comes to getting home or to work, the nearest ATMs, places recommended by Google for eating and drinking, etc.

Everything at your fingertips on the same screen

Once you have scrolled down the screen, you will see three icons, through which you will access the new sections of Google Maps. They are as follows:

• Places: On this screen, Google makes you tourist and gastronomic guide, recommending places selected by sections such as »places to dine», »business lunches», »cheap meals». etc Right now, to access this section we also have to go to the bottom of the main screen, but the design is different and we have to change the screen to access it. With this new design, we will simply display the same screen, through which we will navigate through the different sections. When you finish the recommended places, Google gives you extra information about gas stations,ATMs, grocery stores etc.
• In the second tab we have real-time information on how long it will take us to get to our house from the place where we are in that moment. If you want to stay informed about traffic in real time you will have to go to this option.
• The last tab is reserved Google for public transport: which bus to take, when the next one arrives and the expected time it will take in being at home, as well as nearby bus stations and stops.

Google has already released the new update of Google Maps and very soon you should have it on your mobile. Now, on a single screen you will have all the information you need on your daily trips: buses, traffic, cheap places to eat, ATMs... A much more intuitive application available to everyone.
