Popcorn
The weekend arrives and the weather is bad. One looks through the window, it rains. She looks at her partner, in their pajamas, curled up in a ball, on the sofa. The desire to go out is minimal and what you really want is put on a movie and forget about the world. what movie? That is another topic, more complicated.
With such an overwhelming number of films that we have, with platforms such as Filmin, Movistar Plus, Netflix, deciding is, each time, a more complicated matter. When you want to put on a movie, the last thing you want is to think about exactly which one to watch. For this there are wonderful people who try to make our lives easier. And, thus, create applications that do the work for you. Isn't that great?
What is Popcorn?
Popcorn wants to be like your cinephile friend who keeps recommending movies to you. It is a very recent application, it just entered the Google store a day ago, and we still don't have download figures. In fact, if we go to its official page in the Play Store, it only has one opinion that, for the moment, is from five stars And nothing better than having our own, so let's download it, which is free, and let's see what it offers us again there is Popcorn, the Tinder of movies.
Yes, we know that there are people so cinephile that they would marry one of their favorite movies, but this “Tinder of the movies”goes another way: it has more to do with its design and functionality. At the moment we open the application, in which, in addition, we do not even need to enter our email to create an account. It is not a social network, it is an app that you will use for your own use and enjoyment without having to share it with anyone. Something strange in these times, right?
How does the application work?
The app is divided into three areas, a center where the films are collected in the form of cards that can be slid (here we have the Tinder effect) and two bars: an upper one, where you can check the list of movies watched and added to watch later, and a lower one divided into four parts: a green checkto mark the movie as watched, a red cross to never see that movie again through the app, a clock, so that it does appear again even if, at this moment, you don't feel like seeing it and a blue button to add it and see it later.
As you have seen, you can save or add movies to watch later by sliding the cards or clicking on the buttons. In the list of saved movies, you can select them and access their page at IMDb.
We have seen several details that have not convinced us: the app, for example, should have enough intelligence to track your tastes, between movies marked in red and green and thus fine-tune your selection. Another weak point is that only recommends films from 1990, missing out on countless films that are essential.
We hope these details will polish them. So far, this Tinder for movies has seemed like a very original idea. What are you waiting for to download it?
