Facebook now allows you to publish colored statuses
Facebook Keep working to offer us more features. If a few months ago I made a change in our statuses, increasing the font size depending on the number of characters in our status update, now they allow that we put a background color to make it stand out more on the wall.
That is, Facebook wants our posts to be more attractive and also more visual. Something that shows that bet on the original content of their users, and not so much for the fact of sharing viral news or videos. This is how they have launched a new function to customize our states much more, starting first with Androidsince at the moment they will be the ones that will be able to put background color, although from iOS and the web itself they will be seen but without being able to create them.
For some time, Mark Zuckerberg's company has focused on our states. First it was with 'Reactions', there we went from having the simple 'I like' to several options such as 'I love it', 'I have fun', ' it annoys me', etc. Then it was the larger font size to highlight our statuses and now they want to go a step further in customization, making them more striking with a colored background.
This is how we can choose if we want to put a colored background to the text that we are publishing, which can be solid or with a gradient .To do so, when we are putting the text in question, we will have to mark the option as enabled by touching the status bar, we will get a palette in which we can mark which colorwe want to choose from a default selection, including even gradients.
As it happens with the issue of larger typography when our status consists of few words, in the case that we put links, videos or images this effect disappearsSo it will only be used as a background for a text. Which makes it clear that Facebook's intention is to skip a bit that white and blue that it has been wearing for many years, and give it a little more life with the choice of colors to suit the user.
Colored backgrounds will begin to be implemented in all profiles in the next few days -expected to be in early 2017- . Of course, only Android users will be able to create them, although those of iOS, Android and from the web itself will be able to see them on their timeline. That is, they can only be created from one platform but all will have the option to see the states with the background colors.
From Facebook, they have assured Techcrunch that “We are working on a change to help people make their posts more visual From today, people will be able to update the colored background in their texts from Android”. This is Facebook's commitment to the most original content of its users.
We will have to see now how our timeline is recharged by having different colors in the status updates of our contacts. Since one of the things that Facebook has always stood out for has been its sobriety -white and blue- and now between the 'Reactions' and the status background colors it can be a bit tiresome, at least until we get used to it. both colorful.
