Play Books: all the news from the Google application
The Christmas holidays are approaching and, with them, free time to enjoy pleasures such as reading. If you are one of those who read your favorite books from your mobile, you will be interested to know that Google has just launched a new update (the version 3.11) of its application Play Libros, which includes numerous new features that will make the reading experience more pleasant and practical. What's new with Play Books?
New Navigation Bar
One of the newest features of this version of Play Books is a new navigation bar integrated into the lower part of it. In the previous menu, the three main sections of the application were arranged vertically, icon and name on the right. In this new design and following the current trend of Google, the categories can be found in the bottom, icon and name just below. For now, this new navigation bar will only be available to users in the United States , although there is no clear reason not to think that they will extend it to the rest of the international territory. Perhaps they have taken their North American users as testers of this new configuration and, if it works, we would soon have it among us.
Best series list
Before, when you searched for the specific volume of a series of, for example, comics, they would all appear in the same section, without take into account the latest news or if they are special issues. Now they will be in the following order: latest releases, volumes, copies and specials. With the search filter you can change the order of the articles within those same sections, that will be immovable.
Night Reading Option
It seems incredible that this option has not yet been integrated into an application like Play Libros ( although we did have the sepia color option). The 'night light' button will turn the screen black (with white letters) so you can go to bed and enjoy reading your favorite book without having to disturb who sleeps next to you. That in the dark of night, and more now in winter, it is usually a nuisance.
Google Play Books began to be developed by the company in February 2011 since, as of that date, in Android Market we could already see the first e-books (electronic books) for sale. Since then, there have been many changes and not only in the application but also in our way of consuming the books. Many people already dare to make the leap to e-books, either because of the convenience of being able to carry several volumes at once or because they feel attracted by everything that suppose new technologies It is increasingly common to see more than one person holding their electronic book on the subway or bus, there are more and better devices and the reading experience, if not the same, is quite similar to that of the book on paper. And you, how do you read? How do you prefer it, digitally or on paper?
