Rooter
Last Monday an application appeared in the Play Store that comes to fill a gap that, inexplicably, had been around for a long time needed to occupy And it is that we are talking about two terms that, although they are all the rage separately, together run the risk of being a time bomb (and fun). On one side of the ring we have social networks; on the other side, sports. Which, as we already know very well, produces unbridled passions... Sometimes worse than we would like. Social networks and sports come together, thus, in an application that, with luck, can cause numerous accessions due to its particular characteristics.
Once you download it and connect to it (either via Facebook or email) you must select two of your favorite sports among three of them, cricket, tennis and soccer and, within them, the team you belong to. Once completed, it takes you to a kind of »wall» where, like a sports Tinder, it connects you with other "rooters" who live near you you. As you can guess, right now there are very few followers, taking into account that it went public last Monday.
One thing that we did not like at all, although it is early for criticism: surprisingly, when we access the football tab and have to choose our favorite team, we see with astonishment how only two of them appear among all those we have in our league: Valencia FC and FC BarcelonaBe careful, I have nothing against these two great teams... But let's hope they get to work with the following updates and bring us the rest of them. Curiously, also, if we choose the British Premier League all the teams that make it up appear. Very strange, considering that the Spanish is one of the most important soccer leagues in the world. The same happens with the “Tennis” tab, which is the next one we have chosen: after selecting “Davis Cup” only two players appear in the application list: the Indian Ramkumar Ramanathan and the Spanish Feliciano López We assume that when the tournaments start, the application Expand players from different competitions and teams.
One of the best features offered by Rooter is being able to convey the atmosphere of camaraderie and euphoria that is created when a group of people attend a sporting event, for example, in a bar. While the "rooters" watch a football game they can interact with each other in a chat and even play to predict how the game will turn out using cards that the application provides. In addition It has different question and answer games with which you can test your cricket, tennis or soccer knowledge.
Finally, sports fans and social media fans have a meeting point at Rooter. It's still early to have a fair opinion about it, but we can predict that, at least the concept seems attractive enough for it to succeed. Only time will tell if we were right.
