The world of mobile gaming is much wider than Pokémon GO or Candy Crush Saga And, step by step, the creators of the most extensive and elaborate video games seen in computers and game consoles make the leap to this small window that is already in everyone's pocket. Peter Molyneux is one of those creators. Whoever was known for the saga Fable or Black and White, redevelops a game for phones after the acclaimed and disgraced GodusThis time it is The Trail, and like every work by Molyneux, this title comes with controversy and a breath of fresh air.
On The Trail we took paper from a bum on its most literal meaning. And it is that the character embarks on an adventure to discover the new world. Walking. Thus, the main mission is to reach the city of Eden Falls on a continent that could well be America. The journey is a path, and it is not metaphorical at all. The entire game takes place along paths between traveler camps. Walking and just walking. Bored? It might seem like it, but there are many other activities to do during the march.
The character begins dressed in old and torn clothes and no shoes The good thing is that, during the trip, to avoid boredom, all kinds of tasks to be done appear.Through the camps it is possible to meet other characters who will ask us for tasks such as collecting firewood or shells along the way. A simple swipe from the object to the backpack (with limited space) serves to accomplish these tasks. Upon reaching the next camp, we find the character and a reward if we have added all the necessary objects.
Also, much like in Minecraft, it is possible to “craft” or generate new, more elaborate objects from certain natural resources. From footwear to walk faster and further without killing hearts (top left), to axes to fell dry logs that lie on the road, among many other options.Of course, it may be necessary to negotiate in some camps to obtain objects that we have not found during the walk.And it is that other travelers will reduce the number of resources but will offer us interesting deals to enrich us.
The evolution of the character will be noticeable after a few hours of play. Also, we must not lose sight of the fact that it is also possible to settle down and create a real city where you can build new buildings and generate more money. All this will allow us to continue advancing and discover new terrain on this continent to discover.
In the visual section, everything stands out, from the modeling of the characters to the light and shadow effects of the settings. The views of this game are so beautiful that it is very likely that you will want to stop from time to time to contemplate the landscape, the vegetation and the fauna. The sound accompanies, and makes the experience pleasant.
