Twyp Cash
Each time withdrawing money from an ATM is a more arduous task. Most banks charge us a commission if we do not withdraw at one of their ATMs, so we have to go around looking for the said ATM and unfortunately, most of the time, it is not as close or as accessible as we would like. that I was Under this premise, the Dutch bank ING Direct has launched a service that will allow us to withdraw money directly while we shop or put gas in our car. How is it possible? Well, the service is called Twyp Cash and using it is as simple as most things these days: downloading a mobile app.
To use the service Twyp Cash you first need to download the application. For this purpose, an operating system iOS 9 or Android 4.0 and higher is required, as well as an account in the aforementioned bank, ING Direct.
The Twyp Cash application itself will indicate the nearest POP establishment (this is how they are defined) from our location using a system of shop search engine. When we are on site at the establishment we can choose the amount we want to withdraw. The amounts must range from a minimum of 20 euros and up to a maximum of 150 euros Once we have carried out the operation in the application, it will generate a code that we must show to the store clerk so that, once validated, he gives us the money directly from the cash register. The maximum amount of money withdrawn per month may not exceed 1000 euros and although the service is free of commissions, we must always make a purchase. There is no minimum purchase quantity so we can buy something of little value. Of course, the amount of cash to withdraw plus the purchase must never exceed 600 euros.
Despite the fact that DIA Supermarkets and their adherents (Claire or Plaza de DIA) are the strong names in this alliance against commissions from banking entities, there are other establishments that have also joined this system. The supermarket chain El íbol, the gas station networks Shell or GALP are some of them.
The service, which is totally pioneering in the Spanish market, will begin to function in Spain progressively over the next month, with the idea that by the end of the month it will be available in more than2900 DIA stores spread throughout Spain.
The idea of this agreement is to attract more customers to DIA stores (hence the minimum purchase is mandatory) and in turn than existing customers of both DIA and ING Direct have innovative services that allow them more freedom of movement and above all, free them from the pen alty imposed by ATM fees, although as with everything we will have to wait a few months until the service is well integrated both in the system and among the staff.
