Last week the seventeenth edition of Big Brother premiered, the program that began as a «sociological study» but which ended up being an audience success in prime time edition after edition. Back in the year 2000, when the program was released, technologies were not as developed as they are now. At that time only a few of us had mobile phones and their relationship with the television program was limited to a primitive system of voting through SMS messages. But in these times, in which mobile applications are the star, Big Brother does not want to be left behind. The program has had a mobile application for a few years now, but this year's is undoubtedly the best, since numerous functions have been added that will delight of the followers of the program.
The most striking novelty is that you can vote directly from the application, totally free although yes, only one vote per user. No more those 3-figure phone bills to get our favorite contestant to win.
But let's see what we can find inside the application.
On the one hand there is a section called "participants" where we can access the biographies, presentation videos and latest news from the inhabitants of the houseThey also have the video option. If we want to see what is happening inside the house at all times we have the possibility to select the 24 hour mode that connects us directly with what is happening in Guadalix de la Sierra in real time. Also, and as a complement to this 24-hour option, we have another similar but written one, in which they tell us, as a news blog, all the relevant events that occurred inside the house of Big Brother
If, on the other hand, what you want to see are programs broadcast on a delayed basis, you have the option « a la carte», in which you can choose what and when you want to see it. Thus we also find the section «news», a summary of the most notable news of the last few hours.
Within all this range of possibilities we also find three accesses to blogs: the blog of Kiko, where Kiko Hernández will write his opinions about everything that happens in the program, the cat's blog, another publication where you can read opinion articles about what happens in the program and the stylist's blog, a fashion blog in which all the outfits seen at home and at the galas will be analyzed.
The application is already in the top 10 downloads on both Google Play and the App Store and although it is free, it hasA fairly high level of integration. Every time we want to watch a video or access one of the sections we will have to fully reproduce an ad and the same thing to be able to exit that section to return to the main menu. Although surely none of this is an impediment for fans of Big Brother
